The Queue: Working in The Foundry

The Queue Working in The Foundry

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Alex Ziebart will be your host today.

In today's edition of The Queue, I'm excited. Why? Because Neverwinter's Foundry feature is completely amazing and I pray every night that WoW implements something just like it.

@daveverity asked:

If WoW had a "Foundry" similar to NeverWinter, what dungeon would you create?

For those of you not in the know when it comes to Neverwinter, their Foundry is a toolset that allows you to "build quests, zones and stories that you can share with your friends and the entire Neverwinter community."

To answer the question, if WoW had a Foundry, what wouldn't I create? I love building things like that, especially in the fantasy setting. I love creating things that other people can consume and enjoy -- that's one reason I love this gig at WoW Insider so much. I know that what we do here entertains all of you on a daily basis. In fact, I love the idea so much, I downloaded Neverwinter over the weekend just to try out that feature.

Being able to create dungeons in WoW, or even smaller-scale scenarios, would instantly become my favorite thing to do in the game. I love the idea of, for example, writing lore/short stories outside of the game, posting them here on WoW Insider, and then sharing the accompanying dungeons with all of you to check out and play. It's hard to say exactly what I would do without the toolset in front of me to see its limitations, but I'd surely make a whole lot of stuff.

Zalinas asked:

When did we realize what we realized about the Old Gods and the Titans? There was a point where we were just naive and clueless players, wasn't there? Was it in Uldaman, where the Discs were finally accessible?

While Uldaman started us down that road, most of the revelations came in Wrath of the Lich King, I believe. In Halls of Stone, you help Brann Bronzebeard reach the Tribunal of Ages, where many things about the Titans and the Old Gods are revealed. Assuming your group stands there long enough to hear all of the dialogue.

Watsocd4 asked:

If you had to do a raid made up entirely of characters from 1 race which one would you pick? I'd think at least from a variety standpoint taurens would be the winners since they have all the tank and heal classes available to them and their dps classes give a good selection too. Which one would be your choice?

Human supremacy.

MCerberus asked:

Where are the murlocs? I'm getting worried here. Every expansion had murlocs (even in SSC for BC), but I'm not seeing any.

The jinyu are highly evolved murlocs. Seriously. The waters of the Vale transformed the murlocs into the jinyu... much like the Well of Eternity transformed certain other races into a higher stage of evolution.

@lostinmyminds asked:

Kinda obvious Q4TQ: any predictions on the arrival of 5.3?

I'm going to preface this answer with an admittance that planning WoW Insider's BlizzCon presence has distracted me heavily from following patch 5.3 very closely. My guess? Early-mid April June. Edit: I meant June. Give me a break, we write this thing at like, 5 in the morning!
