Doodle Jump for Kinect keeps it down to $5 this summer

Doodle Jump for Kinect on Xbox Live Arcade will launch for 400 MS Points ($5) this summer.

Smoking Gun Interactive will adapt Lima Sky's popular vertical platformer to Kinect, adding "three brand-new worlds, treacherous bosses, challenging achievements, engaging power-ups and intuitive gesture controls." Those gestures include lateral full-body movement and "a flap of the arms" to control flying, just as you would in real life.

Doodle Jump for Kinect Brings a Classic to the Family Room

Iconic Mobile Gaming Hit Makes the Leap to Xbox Live in Summer 2013

New York, NY – June 4, 2013 – Lima Sky and D3Publisher today announced that Doodle Jump for Kinect™ is coming to the Xbox LIVE® online entertainment network for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft as an arcade game in summer 2013. Doodle Jump for Kinect takes the adorably addicting, vertical-platforming gameplay of the original mobile game – which has made it the third most successful paid iOS app of all time – and brings it onto home consoles for the first time, with new content and an entirely unique control scheme made possible only through exclusive Kinect™ for Xbox 360 integration.

"We've brought the Doodler onto new platforms before, but never like this," noted Igor Pusenjak, co-founder of Lima Sky. "The unparalleled freedom afforded by Kinect for Xbox 360 allows us to explore new gameplay experiences we never even imagined were possible when we first developed the original Doodle Jump."

Developed by Smoking Gun Interactive in collaboration with Lima Sky, Doodle Jump for Kinect delivers a fresh, new take on the simple, accessible, tried-and-true action of the original. Players move their bodies left and right to control the Doodler, blast nose balls with arm gestures, fly with a flap of the arms and more, with other unique body motion controls. Doodle Jump for Kinect brings exclusive content to Xbox 360 that has never before been seen in the series: three brand-new worlds, treacherous bosses, challenging achievements, engaging power-ups and intuitive gesture controls.

Doodle Jump for Kinect will be available on Xbox LIVE for 400 Microsoft Points in summer 2013. It requires Kinect to play.
