WRUP: The summer rain

Once upon a time, summers in the video game industry were quiet. Take a stroll through our reviews section, and you'll see there are plenty of games to fill the summer and discourage you from venturing into that harmful sun. Your skin will thank you when you're older.

What's everyone playing?

  • Alexander Sliwinski (@Sliwinski): The new Civilization Brave New World expansion. I'm also going to give Endless Space another go after a year of updates and its new expansion. That game had lots of potential at launch last year. Hoping the expansion really pushed it for the better.

  • Danny Cowan (@Sardoose): Still hacking away at Class of Heroes 2. Hack, hack, hack. Dungeon hackin'.

  • David Hinkle (@DaveHinkle): It's my last weekend visiting the east coast and I'll be at my friend Josh's, so Super Street Fighter 4 is sure to go down. Other than that, I doubt I'll get much more gaming in.

  • Jess Conditt (@JessConditt): ...

  • Jordan Mallory (@Jordan_Mallory): I have tickets to see my favorite singer, Rachael Yamagata.

  • Ludwig Kietzmann (@LudwigK): I'll be fumbling through Rogue "Lite" game Rogue Legacy. Some Guacamelee people worked on it!

  • Mike Suszek (@MikeSuszek): I'll be playing a ton of NCAA Football 14. Football, you guys! FOOTBALL!

  • Richard Mitchell (@TheRichardM): Guys, the Ouya is a legitimately good party box. I've got family in town, so I'm anticipating some more Hidden in Plain Sight, Get on Top, No Brakes Valet and You Don't Know Jack. For those rare lonely moments, Soul Sacrifice and ukulele practice.

  • Sinan Kubba (@Shoinan): Since I'm not ill enough to be inert, but too ill to do much, I'll be gaming a-plenty. Already lined up are Remember Me, The Last of Us, and Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

  • Steven Wong: I might spend some time playing Monster Loves You if I don't decide to take a little break from gaming this weekend.

  • Susan Arendt (@SusanArendt): Shin Megami Tensei IV (which is going all Dark Souls on me because I've been a bad, bad girl, apparently), Animal Crossing, Mystery Room, maybe some Last of Us, Scurvy Scallywags.

  • Xav de Matos (@Xav): Chipping away at The Last of Us. That game can get depressing so I turn to other games to lift my spirits. I tried Deadpool ... that's depressing for other reasons.
