WRUP: Ducks cannot do advanced math edition

For the past three weeks, I've been running an experiment to see if ducks can do advanced math. The practice is simple. First, I place several ducklings into a room with a calculus problem worksheet and I tell them to complete the worksheet. Then, I release several angry barking dogs into the room. For a control group, I place several graduate students into a room with the same worksheet, tell them to complete it, then release several angry barking dogs into the room.

Thus far, I've discovered that ducks cannot do advanced math, graduate students cannot do advanced math, and blowing most of your research budget on angry barking dogs is a poor investment.

None of the Massively staff members is a dog, but several of us are loud and angry. We're also playing video games over the weekend, hence this week's WRUP. See what we're up to past the break, and let us know your own plans down in the comments!

@Beau_Hindman: I'm not really sure what I'm playing, which is an odd feeling. I know that I will likely play PlanetSide 2 and Defiance, but I really want to play some more of The Walking Dead and Mabinogi. And RuneScape. I've also had a blast with my wife in Pirate101, so I'll play that as well.

@nyphur: I've been getting really into faction warfare in EVE Online again and enjoying being part of the regular PvP cruiser fleets, so I'll likely log a few hours in a blaster Thorax this weekend. The Gallente Militia is losing the territorial war around Nennamaila really badly, so a bit of defensive plexing may be in order. I'll also be taking a few days off to attend Northern Ireland's biggest annual gaming and anime convention, Q-Con.

@nbrianna: I've got a date for the new Guild Wars 2 dungeon with some guildies, plus I'm still tooling around in Ultima Online and modding away at my Torchlight II install.

@PsykopigAU: Definitely hitting up The Secret World. I am working my way through Egypt and it's filled with all the glory I remember! I have also been bitten with a bit of the Guild Wars 2 bug again. My main is three levels away from 80, so I need to power through!

@Eliot_Lefebvre: There's another beta weekend for Final Fantasy XIV and another doubled experience weekend for Star Wars: The Old Republic. That pretty much does me right there, but I've also been digging on Recettear again.

@jefreahard: I'll be playing The Last of Us. I may pick up some more double XP in SWTOR if time permits. I reinstalled Aion too, but the prospect of being a level 55 newb seems less appealing now than it did when I was patching.

@Sypster: The zombies of The Secret World don't stand a chance against my zapping, fireball-flinging, exsanguinating ways, let me tell you. I am striding through the streets of Kingsmouth without any fear, confident in my ability to dispatch all who oppose me to the realm of eternal rest. All except for Gary; he's a pretty cool zombie.

@MikedotFoster: I'm pretty slammed with being outside things this week, but if I get a chance between the kayaking and parading, I'll probably hop in on some Dota 2. Or FTL, which has become my "I have five quick minutes to play something" game of choice.

@MJ_Guthrie: With Aion: Dark Betrayal out, I am somersaulting my way around as a new Asmodian Songweaver. I'll also throw a little SWTOR in for the double XP, and I might find the time to whip a few undead Egyptians into shape in The Secret World, but there are only so many hours in the day...

@mackeypb: I'm playing my usual stuff (a little League of Legends, a little Age of Wushu, etc.) but I also got a nostalgia kick and have been playing SaGa Frontier, where everything is obtuse and the game does not apologize for being hard or putting you in states where the game is practically unwinnable. I'm having a lot of fun.

@RichieProcopio: This weekend, I will be running the new Aetherblade Retreat dungeon in Guild Wars 2 and working on completing my Dragon Bash achievements. Ugh... now that song is my head again. "BASH THE DRAGON, SMASH THE DRAGON!"

@Epykbeard: For me it's Wurm Online and PlanetSide 2 on the MMO side, and State of Decay and Harms Way on the non-MMO side. If you're into racing games or shooters, give Harms Way a try; It's free on XBL and worth the download for a quick little burst of fun.

@terilynns: I will be busy zipping around on my "floater" on Risa during the new Summer Event in Star Trek Online. I really need that Risian Corvette!
