The Queue: Popcorn with Cutaia

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky (@adamholisky) will be your host today.

A quick note regarding WoW Insider... We're aware of the problems with the mobile site, and our friends at AOL are working to fix it. We're hopeful it's taken care of soon.

Keep an eye out on Twitter, we'll let you all know when it's back up.

Dashric asked:

Is it likely that blizzard will preview the next expansion at Gamescom?

No, it will be at BlizzCon. Our guess for the Gamescom press conference is something to do with Diablo 3 (obviously). Quite possibly the next expansion or some sort of content patch. I don't think they'd hold a press conference for just a normal patch.

My other thought is that they've done some port of D3 to the iPad... I just have this feeling that's coming sometime in the future. Hack and slash games are fun on the iPad, and Blizzard wants to expand into it (and they need to).

And can I just take a moment here to once again beg for pet battles on iOS/Android? No wait, maybe that's not a good idea, because if that were to ever happen, it's all I would do. My single contribution to humanity from that point forward would be pet battles.

Odin asked:

Q4TQ: do you think we will ever get class-specific achievements? there's so many possibilities.

I have to believe at some point we will. I say this not without good reason, either. Think of Blizzard's development and design as a pendulum, swinging from one side to the other. At the beginning of WoW the classes were very divergent, very unique. The way you played a warrior tank was very different than the way you played a paladin tank.

Fast forward a few years and the classes started to become homogenized. Warrior and paladins tanks felt a little more like each other (Rossi is going to murder me for saying this, but it's true -- in Wrath onwards they felt a lot similar than the did in BC). Now things are starting to separate a bit more; we're seeing major class specific quests with warlocks, and with the success of that quest chain ... I have to imagine more are on their way.

Some people complained:

You're overdoing it with the popcorn gifs. Stop.

That's true -- I am using it too much.

But you also know what's true? The community's collective reaction to this stuff is getting blown up out of proportion way too much. That's what my popcorn gif is all about. When we all decide to settle down and grab a towel, I'll find something other than popcorn to post in the comments.

Here's something Cutaia made yesterday. Best vine ever.
