Repix brings its photo editing prowess to Android, supports Samsung's S Pen and Air View (video)

After gaining considerable success on the iOS side of the smartphone divide, Repix has finally launched its creative photo editor over on the land of the little green droid. Like the iOS original, the Android version lets you liven up your humdrum camera phone images with a variety of effects that range from filters and frames to a set of thirty brushes that let you augment specific areas of the photo instead of the whole thing. For those with a Galaxy Note device (be it the original Note, the Note II, the Note 8.0 or the Note 10.1), you'll be glad to know Repix works well with the S Pen's pressure sensitivity. If you have a GS4, the app has built-in support for the handset's Air View technology, so you can discern the size of the brush just by hovering your finger above the display. But regardless of which Android phone you have, you can download it for free from the Google Play Store starting today to begin putting those Instagram filters to shame.

Repix, the world's most inspiring photo editing app, launches on Android

After over 4 MILLION downloads on iOS in just five months, Repix comes to Google Play

Helsinki, Finland / London, UK, 27th August 2013, 11am BST – Repix, the world's most inspiring photo editor, has today officially launched on Android. Following its huge success on iOS where it's been downloaded more than 4 MILLION times in just 5 months, the popular app is now available to download for free from Google Play. Repix turns ordinary photos into masterpieces by offering users the chance to freely add incredible effects to their images.

"Since launching on iOS, the last few months have been a bit of a whirlwind," said Ilkka Teppo, CEO of Sumoing. "It's been great to see how the app and the Repix brushes has been received by so many people around the world and the feedback they've given us has been fantastic. We've been working hard on getting Android version ready after receiving lots of requests for it and we can't wait for users to get their hands on it."

The Android version comes with the same stunning feature set built in a beautiful Android user experience. With Repix, people are able to turn their ordinary photos into pieces of art that are visually stunning using the app's one-of-a-kind brushes, frames, filters and editing tools.

The key features of Repix includes:
- Carefully handcrafted selection of 30 brushes, which include state-of-the art animated, light, grunge, color boosting and artistic styles.
- Selection of beautifully designed filters and frames, easy-to-use adjustments and cropping tools let users create a stunning final finish
- Real-time and lossless editing enables switching between tools fast and without loss thanks to Repix real-time RebecaTM processing engine

And for Android users with a Samsung Galaxy Note product (including the Galaxy Note, Galaxy Note II, Galaxy Note 8.0 and Galaxy Note 10.1) or Samsung Galaxy S 4, it gets better. Users of the Galaxy Note smartphone or tablet can use the S-Pen to enjoy the support of pressure sensitivity to control the Repix' brush strokes to perfect their creations. Repix for Android also has built-in support for Samsung Galaxy S 4 Air View technology, which enables users to see the size of the brush by simply hovering your finger over the photo. This is a great way to get a quick preview without having to touch anything.

"Repix is more than just another photo editing app. It is a creative tool that lets you turn ordinary photos into masterpieces," continued Teppo. "We have seen stunning creations by our users and are very happy to be able to expand Repix for Android."

Repix is available to download for free from Google Play and the App Store. The free version of the app offers users access to a selection of tools and users can purchase more tools in-app.
