Refresh Roundup: week of September 23rd, 2013

Your smartphone and / or tablet is just begging for an update. From time to time, these mobile devices are blessed with maintenance refreshes, bug fixes, custom ROMs and anything in between, and so many of them are floating around that it's easy for a sizable chunk to get lost in the mix. To make sure they don't escape without notice, we've gathered every possible update, hack, and other miscellaneous tomfoolery we could find during the last week and crammed them into one convenient roundup. Official Android updates

  • HTC One: Like the global model, Android 4.3 is also now available for the HTC One Developer Edition. [@HTCdev (Twitter)]

  • LG Lucid: Verizon has announced a new update for the Lucid that contains many security patches and brings new versions of Google Map Services and the Single Sign On engine. Additionally, the update also removes Verizon Remote Diagnostics and brings minor revisions to a few of the bundled apps. [Android Police]

  • LG Spectrum 2: Verizon is also notifying users of an update for the Spectrum 2 that mirrors many of the changes in the Lucid. This revision also allows users to change the volume while using Visual Voice Mail and installs Verizon Daily Scoop. [Android Police]

  • Samsung Galaxy Note II: An update is available for installation via Samsung Kies to subscribers of Vodafone in Australia that enables HD Voice. [Ausdroid]

  • Sony Xperia Z1: Users in India report the availability of a new update for the HSPA+ version of the Xperia Z1, but little is known about what's changed. [Xperia Blog]

  • Sony Xperia ZL: An update is rolling out within Germany, the US and Singapore that's said to bring improvements to the display, camera, battery life and system performance. [Xperia Blog]

  • Sony Xperia M: Sony is currently rolling out an update in parts of Asia and Europe that's said to resolve random reboot issues while using headphones. [Xperia Blog]

Unofficial Android updates, custom ROMs and misc. hackery

  • HTC One: If you've ever wanted to take Oppo's ColorOS (an Android skin) for a spin, that's now possible, thanks to a custom ROM that was created for the HTC One. Unique to this ROM, it also contains the Sense frameworks, meaning that you can also load up the phone with functional versions of HTC's apps. Separately, nightly builds of CyanogenMod 10.2 are now available for Verizon's variant of the HTC One. [Android Beat, Android Police]

  • LG Optimus G: Nightly builds of CyanogenMod 10.2 are now available for Sprint's version of the Optimus G. [Android Police]
