The Queue: Flex will take over

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky (@adamholisky) will be your host today.

I'm getting excited for BlizzCon. I can't wait to see what the next iteration of this game is going to bring. But you know what I'm looking forward to more? Getting to hang out with all the awesome staff here and all our amazing readers. Also Orkchop, I'm looking forward to Orkchop.

Fallenanger asked:

Do you think that flex will replace normal raiding?

Yes, I do. Infact, i think Blizzard might make a lot more things flex-like at BlizzCon. There is no reason why, if scaling works, that outdoor bosses can't use this (they already do to some extent), that older raid bosses can't use this, that ... gasp, even a reduced version of LFR can't use this.

I want the freedom to take as few, or as many, people to a raid. I'm not calling for the return of 40-man raiding right now, but there really shouldn't be a reason why a 30-man isn't doable. And if the serious graphics lag could be solved for a 40-man raid, then wait for it... there is no reason a 40-man couldn't be doable either.

I know I just went from not calling for a 40-man to calling for a 40-man. I'm having that kind of morning.

Vyrianthor asked:

A subsection of my raid group (we do 25s) just earned our Glory of the Orgrimmar Raider achievement, and we were all flying around on our Spawns of Galakras when we noticed that, unlike other Proto-Drake mounts, the Spawn of Galakras actually seems to emit black particles from its wings as it flies (kind of like smoke, but heavier).

It looks really awesome, but my question is this: Could this smoke be a reference to the way Galakrond (the mount's progenitor) seemed to "exude decay" during the Dawn of the Aspects story?

That's a very interesting hypothesis, and I bet it has a chance of being true. However this isn't the first mount to poop sparkles of various colors -- mounts as far back as Wrath had trailing effects.

Evilbane asked:

Seriously, why are SO many people convinced that TDB is legit, I really don't get it. Is it that people are starved for news and Blizz have been able to keep a REALLY tidy ship this year so we're clutching at straws - even things that look a bit like straws - in an attempt to think "yeah, I know about that in
advance"?

I really would like to know why as well. If the Dark Below is real, I'll quit my job. That's how sure I am that it's not legit. You're hearing this from every single person that knows a helluva lot about WoW and what's going on at Blizzard. No one -- not a single person -- is saying this is legit.

Please don't read between the lines. It. Is. Fake.

Twowolves asked:

Is it weird I just received my presale Blizzcon t-shirt? I thought Blizzcon merchandise wasn't shipped until Blizzcon happened.

Nope! Blizzard said that they're shipping things out much faster this year. In previous years this stuff has been very laggy -- I know that three or four years ago I got stuff a month after the con, which was lame. Be happy that things are coming early, and don't forget to show up to the Anabella Thursday Night wearing your new BlizzCon shirt at the WoW Insider / Wowhead party. It's free, lots of fun, and totally kewl.

Laffable asked:

Any chance Blizzard will eventually adapt their website so that it looks better on mobile devices? I would love to be able to browse their site w/o having to mess with my phone to make everything clear :(

P.S. I would love to see this perhaps integrated into the mobile app!

Your guess is as good as mine, although I have to imagine that they've heard of responsive design by now. Also I just wanted to non-answer this question so I could bring up mobile pet battles again. Because dear lord, please.
