There comes a time (OK many times) on the road to 50 in Final Fantasy XIV when you're launched into a dungeon and told very firmly that you may not progress in your main storyline until you've successfully punched each boss in the face. Sastasha is the very first required dungeon, and today Massively's Jasmine sets forth to punch boss faces in this pirate-themed instance! Join us live at 3:00 p.m. EST for all the pirate action.

This dungeon is pretty straightforward and designed to ease players into grouped content. No tactics will surprise experienced MMO players.
Check out the parchment near the start of the dungeon if you would like to figure out which tree to click on first, otherwise just start clicking. Eventually the boss will spawn and nothing too terrible happens if you click the wrong ones. This is a very simple "tank and spank" fight with a periodic, clearly marked AoE around the boss.
Or Captain Morgan if you're paying more attention to healing than reading. Ahem. This is a simple fight. You may either DPS down his two adds or focus him down first. Either way you'll still need to kill the adds and Captain Madison will flee the scene once you've damaged him enough.
Similar to the last time but with the addition of puppies! I suggest killing the adds first so your tank doesn't get overwhelmed. After he's been damaged enough he'll summon canine adds. It's a good idea to stack on the tank so the puppies are easier to pick up. Again the Captain will run away and leave behind a treasure chest.
Denn does in the Captain and then tries to do the same to you! The battlefield has four grates with bubbles coming out of them and periodically throughout the fight they'll begin rippling. If they're clicked on soon enough then you'll be able to prevent an add from spawning. Stop as many as you can and run to the tank if one pops up and decides he likes you. That's it! You're done with the FFXIV's first dungeon.
