With the DOJ's approval, Microsoft-Nokia deal is one step closer to reality

Over the weekend, the U.S. Department of Justice gave its blessing to the pending Microsoft-Nokia acquisition, leaving Redmond one step closer to buying the Finnish company's devices and services business for a cool $5 billion. Last month, Nokia shareholders approved the transaction, and this latest hurdle means that the deal could be on track for approval in early 2014, as Microsoft previously stated. That doesn't mean there aren't any more hoops to jump through, however; next up is getting the thumbs-up from the EU, which will reportedly make its decision by December 4th.
