Sony launches Blackjack-meets-RPG Suits and Swords on iOS, Android

Sony Pictures Television, a division of Sony's TV and film production company Sony Pictures Entertainment, launched its first original mobile IP today, Suits and Swords. The free-to-play game mixes fantasy RPG elements with the classic card game Blackjack.

It challenges players with saving four lands that represent the four suits in a standard deck of 52 playing cards: Heart Union, Diamond Empire, Club Kingdom and Spade Nation, guiding a knight named Captain Black Jack on a quest to face "the Joker." Along the way, players upgrade Black Jack's magic, weapons and armor and unlock additional side quests.

Suits and Swords is available for free on iOS and Android via Google Play and the Amazon App Store.

New Release Combines Blackjack with Role-Playing Elements

CULVER CITY, CA (January 23, 2014) - Sony Pictures Television (SPT) has launched "Suits and Swords,"its first free-to-play original IP mobile and tablet game. "Suits and Swords" mixes the strategy of playing blackjack with the excitement of a role-playing game (RPG), creating a new type of adventure that will have gamers of all ages hooked from the first battle.

In "Suits and Swords" players lead Captain Black Jack on an epic card-battling journey to free four-card realms from a curse placed by the evil Joker. Key features of "Suits and Swords" include:
Save the Four-Card Realms: Travel through a rich and intriguing story of a world gone amiss and a hero who must do all he can to find the Joker. Fight through four lands - the Heart Union, Diamond Empire, Club Kingdom, and Spade Nation - and free them from the Joker's curse.
Become a Blackjack Master: Battle enemies using the rules and strategy of blackjack. Fight over 100 battles across the four realms to save the kingdom.
Arm for Battle: Gamers will unlock and equip weapons, armor, magic and more to fight their way to the Joker. Each item comes stacked with varying RPG stats that help bolster the powers of Captain Black Jack and his abilities.
Explore the World: Uncover the story of the Joker and find hidden items along the way. Conquer game achievements and unlock side quests for an added challenge.
