The Queue: No auto-play zone

I know it's at least 2 years off but isn't it a waste to spend all this time building up a garrison then wow 7.0 comes out and poof they are useless. I understand gear being outdated, buff items... but garrisons aren't an item per say but an extension of our tools and utilities. Was it mentioned anywhere that we will be able to call u-haul or something and move these around?

They haven't said what will happen to our garrisons after Warlords, which is intentional, I'm sure. We don't have Warlords in our hands yet, so the developers can't know how successful they are/will be yet. Personally, I expect the feature (or something similar) will stick around, but each expansion will require you to build from scratch, with new buildings thrown into the mix each time so your garrison might not be identical across expansions. Heck, it might not even be a garrison after Warlords, but a similar idea used in a different way. Garrisons are, after all, farms on steroids.

It would be a little weird if we could pick up all of our buildings and move them to another location, though.

I think it would be a strange decision if Blizzard actually did close off the Isle. In the game's lore, maybe it does come and go, but you might as well leave it alone for the players who want to go there. If they did remove it, I would hope they'd wait until Warlords of Draenor is live. The Timeless Isle would be a great place to gear up your pre-order boosted 90 while we wait for the expansion.

I don't see why they would change those items. It seems to me that they were added specifically so raiders could acquire them for use in Warlords. I don't know why they would back off of that.

Since the dawn of WoW, players have been asking for woodworking or carpentry. I could never get excited about that idea .. until recently. All of a sudden, I love the idea. Making staves, bows, crossbows, and carved trinkets. With garrisons, maybe the ability to make unique little bits and bobs around your encampment, like simple furniture you otherwise couldn't have -- or players must purchase from the carpenter to add to their garrison. Nothing that impacts gameplay, just decoration.

Target dummies you could deploy would be cool, too. Not dummies with taunt, like engineers used to have, but the target dummies from capital cities. Drop it down anywhere in the world and practice your damage rotation for 5-10 minutes.

I think there are plenty of cool toys that could come out of it.

If it's only a trial account, trial accounts cannot access mail, either sending or receiving. You could, in theory, send them those heirlooms, but they wouldn't be able to open the mailbox to get them. You'd need to upgrade to a subscription to receive the heirlooms.
