Portable audio deals of the week: 3.5.14

If you're like us, spring means it's time to head outside after months of cold weather. Picnics, cookouts and the like should be right around the corner and you're going to need some tunes to keep those activities energized. We've collected a handful of wireless speaker options on the other side of the break that can certainly lend a hand in that department. Grab one for those spontaneous office dance parties, too.

If there are other audio gadgets you're after that we haven't included here -- join us and add them to your "Want" list. Every time there's a price cut in the future, you'll get an email alert!

Libratone Loop

Price: $375
Regular Price: $500
Engadget Global Score: 74
Buy: Amazon (Black), (Gray) and (Red)

We've fancied Libratone's audio wares for quite some time due to their dashing good looks and reliable AirPlay support. Now, last fall's Loop is seeing a $125 price drop that certainly eases the pain of the initial $500 cost to opt in. What's more, the current going rate is the lowest we've seen in 90 days thanks to our Price History tool. We've listed all three colors, as quantities are limited for each.

Jawbone Jambox

Price: $117
Regular Price: $150
Engadget Global Score: 89
Buy: Amazon

The Jawbone Jambox has been a popular choice for Bluetooth speakers for quite some time. Here, the medium-sized (original) option nabs a modest discount that may be enough to lure those on the fence. And there's a load of color options to choose from. If you're willing to hold out though, our tools indicate that the three-month low could save you another $26.

Logitech UE Mobile Boombox

Price: $60
Regular Price: $100
Engadget Global Score: 82
Buy: Amazon

If you'd like another option to consider for compact on-the-go listening, the UE Mobile Boombox is worth a look. Reviewers note that it sounds every bit as good as the previous selection from Jawbone and it'll keep the tunes streaming for around 12.5 hours. The catch? Only select colors are seeing the price drop at the moment. Bummer.

Braven 650

Price: $169
Regular Price: $190
Engadget Global Score: 89
Buy: BuyDig

Don't mind the brick-like design, but would rather avoid the Jamboxes? Take a look at the Braven 650. The name may not sound familiar, but its 89 Engadget Global Score puts it up with the best in the Bluetooth category, and it'll charge that handset should you need a bit of juice.
