There's nothing else quite like it. Flashing blue sparks as you perfectly hug a corner, watching the item wheel come up with that surprise shell, nailing that hard turn into a shortcut you've never quite been able to manage; Mario Kart's pleasures are legion and exclusive.
In fact, the only thing that equals those delights is Mario Kart 8's capacity to inspire fury, madness, and utter rage. Oh, right, it's at the end of a perfect Grand Prix run when I get hit by a four red shells in a row and one perfectly placed banana peel. OF COURSE IT IS! NATURALLY! A POX ON ALL YOUR HOUSES, MARIO KART, YOU UNFORGIVING MONSTER! I hate you as much as I love you, Mario Kart 8, hence why every failure is met by an immediate restart. That is also why we'll be streaming your luscious races today on Joystiq Streams.
