Either way, it's a remarkable achievement for the studio founded by a husband and wife team who had no idea how their game would catch on.
"It's kind of crazy," founder Keith Shepherd said in a GamesBeat interview. "Temple Run has been out a little over three years. We launched on August 3, 2011, I think? At the time, there were just two of us at the company. We were working with a freelance artist on the game. The three of us made the original Temple Run in about five months.
