PS4 getting Suspend/Resume and better social features tomorrow

Sony has just announced its latest PlayStation 4 update will arrive tomorrow. The headline item of the "Yukimura" update is Suspend/Resume. It's something that Sony has been promising since before the PS4 even launched, and means you'll be able jump straight from rest mode into a paused game. Sure, it took 16 months, but better late than never.

Yukimura also adds the ability to back-up and restore your system to an external USB drive (a feature that was supposed to be in the 2.0 update a few months ago) and expands the console's social media options. New features include the ability to share video clips directly to Dailymotion, post Trophy screenshots with the press of the "Share" button, or even search your Facebook contacts to find people that are also PSN members and add them as friends. In addition to those pre-announced features, the update also brings the introduction of "verified accounts," which will work a lot like the blue tick you might have noticed adorning celebrities' Twitter accounts. A special badge will soon highlight developers, producers, designers and community managers so you know that they're the real deal.

There are far too many smaller features to mention here, but you can head to the official PlayStation blog for a full rundown of what to expect.
