Ubisoft's 'The Division' arrives on March 8th, 2016

Ubisoft's The Division has seen a protracted development cycle, to say the least -- the studio unveiled the Tom Clancy-badged online shooter back in 2013, and a release has been elusive ever since. At last, though, you have a date to mark on your calendar. The apocalyptic title will reach the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 8th, 2016, and Xbox One gamers will get their chance to play in a closed beta test in December. PC and PS4 players will also get a shot at playing early, but Ubisoft is coy about details beyond an early 2016 testing window.

It could be worth the wait, whichever version you're playing. At its onstage E3 event, Ubisoft made a big deal of how The Division's "Dark Zone" will have you questioning the loyalty of other human players, including your teammates. That could lead to some griefing by less-than-friendly players, to be sure, but it'll also add an extra level of tension to a game that already promises to be pretty vicious.
