Amazon expands same-day Prime deliveries to more of the UK

Amazon only just launched its free, same-day delivery option for Prime members a few weeks ago, but already it's expanding the convenience to other parts of the UK. Previously available in Greater London and certain Berkshire and Hertfordshire postcodes, Prime Same Day has today spread to Birmingham, Bristol, Dudley, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Walsall and Wolverhampton in England, as well as the Scottish locales of Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Not to be confused with last week's introduction of Amazon Pantry -- another new service that offers Prime members next-day delivery on over 4,000 household essentials -- Same Day covers one million products that can arrive on your doorstep between 6PM and 10PM if you get your order in before midday. Better yet, the free option is available seven days a week with no minimum spend caveat.

Amazon says Same Day will be expanded to even more of the UK next year, catching up with Argos' recently launched, UK-wide same-day delivery service. With Prime Now one-hour deliveries, Same Day, Pantry and Fresh, there's little need to leave your house ever again. And if that sounds like the perfect excuse to spend even more time playing Fallout 4, remember a year's Prime membership is available for the discounted price of £59 until the end of the day.
