If you prefer to play video games solo, there's a chance you haven't bought a PlayStation Plus subscription for your PS4. Sony wants that monthly fee though, so to tempt you it's organised another one of its "free multiplayer weekend" promotions in the US. As the name implies, you'll be able to connect your system and play any game in your library online, all without paying an extra dime. Star Wars Battlefront, Destiny, FIFA 16 -- heck, maybe even Street Fighter V, if Capcom can get its act together.

At the same time, Sony has put out a couple of blog posts asking for system software beta testers. Anyone can apply, although it's not clear exactly how many people will be chosen, or the types of users that Sony is looking for. Still, if you want a sneaky peek at what the company is working on -- hopefully it adds the ability to change our PSN names -- this is the time to make your voice heard. Sony says the beta will begin in early March and if you're selected as a tester, you'll receive an email with instructions.
