A forgettable product. It isn't bad, exactly, but also doesn't do anything particularly well.

Engadget Review

BlackBerry’s first entry into the small tablet / big phone market gets about half of the key decisions right, but a high price, poor call quality and crash-prone software ultimately make it an also-ran.

This is the best Blackberry 10 phone yet. Finally, a large screen from Blackberry is refreshing. The hardware truly matches the best in the industry. Software is the least user friendly OS in the market. You will have to be a diehard Blackberry lover not to switch.

I primarily use my phone for communications, web browsing, playing music and movies and as a GPS.The currently limited apps available in the app store are not an issue for me.The stand-out here is the sound and the touch keyboard. The touch keyboard is the best I've ever used.

Awesome battery life, and with latest OS 10.2.1 it has about all the features I want. Android apps now possible, so I can make it running all I need.

- iTunes and Outlook "Sync Friendly" .... rare combination these days...- 2 Days + on a battery charge.... Equals 4-5X the battery life of iPhone 5S and most Android Phones- 6 external speaker "Natural Sound" is Superior to HTC "Beats Technology" for Music, Hands Free Calls, Gaming, Video Calls- BlackBerry Messenger Video Chat is Superior to Skype in "ease of use" and "quality of audio and video"....- Browsing experience is "as good as" if not "better than" anything else on the market...- New "Paratek Antenna Technology" will enable you to make/receive/retain calls in places you could only "wish for" before- Top Android apps are "loadable" and will be "even easier" when 10.2.1 comes out in the next couple of months...I had a Samsung Galaxy 3 for about a year, then a BlackBerry Z10 and wanted a "new phone"... I found the "following":- iPhone 5S just had too small of a screen and I have a family member with iOS 7 on an iPod and I don't care for the software...........- Samsung Galaxy S4 (too much like the Galaxy S3 that I had and based on a 74% "recommend to a friend" rating on Verizon - did not make any sense to do that, again).......- Nokia Phones - no interest in the plastic, the colors or the software.....- LG G2 - nice screen, played the external speaker and could not believe how "tinny" it sounded - I thought that was a good indication of a lackluster "build quality"...Bought the Z30 for the reasons mentioned above.... Have had it for a month and it is not only the "Best BlackBerry Ever", I believe that it is the "Best New Smartphone on the Market"...Don't believe me... go look at the Verizon website where the Z30 has a "better rating" than the iPhone 5S and a "much better rating" than the Samsung Galaxy S3 and S4.... go to CNET... Amazon and you "keep seeing the same results" from OWNERS of the Z30 .. not the "biased reviewers".People who had older BlackBerrys are really doing themselves a disservice by not taking a look at BlackBerry, again. The Z10, Q10 and Z30 are some of the finest and best rated phones on the market.... there is not a single line of code in BB10 software that is the same as what you had in your "old BlackBerry"... Totally New Experience that many are Enjoying...Berry Christmas...

This is honestly the best phone on the market. Give it a try for at least a month. Read Crackberry.com for more information.

This is not a bad phone and I feel reviewers were too harsh on it, just for the fact that it is meant to be a 2013/2014 flagship and that it is underspecced compared to its competitors. The phone has not been sufficiently judged under its own merit, where one will find that it is a decent performer with a very intuitive and forward thinking user-interface, a market-leading keyboard which learns your words and where users can flick up to complete words quickly that rivals the useability of Swype/Swiftkey, and a powerhouse when it comes to multitasking and Flash performance. Chief amongst its advantages, and one that many users of Android and iOS have told me they wish they had, is the extremely useful integrated hub to answer and respond to my four connected e-mail accounts (work, personal, side-business and spam), along with messages on SMS, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, BBM, WhatsApp and WeChat. No opening of each individual app is required. The "no apps" comment is no longer valid or applies to BlackBerry 10, as users with just a little work can install Android apps directly onto the device through a method similar to just by simply downloading through Google Play. Like I would with an Android phone, the first thing I did on the device was install the apps I wanted. Now, with OS10.2.1, I have both the BlackBerry app store to choose from as well as the Google Play store, and I can access the likes of Instagram, Netflix, Skydrive and Tumblr which are not natively available. The phone is not perfect, and falls short in several categories compared with the leading phones of Android and Apple. iOS's ecosystem is by far the most mature and the 5S is a gorgeous and luxurious device to behold. Android flagships have some of the most cutting edge smartphone technologies available and the best integration of Google services. Apps, while largely resolved in 10.2.1, are still not BlackBerry's forte because of the weak integration with Google/Apple ecosystem services, i.e. Chromecast just doesn't work as well as it would on Google or on iOS. The camera also leaves something to be desired. Despite these flaws, this phone is a solid 9.0 for useability and messaging-focused smartphone users, and I have edited the review to give it a 10.0 as I find the "expert"/"professional" reviews to be heavily biased in favor of iOS/Android devices and they honestly haven't given this phone the legitimate shot it deserves. There is a lot to like about BlackBerry 10, and smartphone users tired of iOS or Android should not be dissuaded from trying it from a few negative comments they find online. Given that apps should no longer be the issue, prospective buyers should weigh whether a good keyboard, multitasking, gestures and the integrated hub is worth the switch to BB10 and the Z30.

I have owned this device for a week now and I can't imagine using any other device. This thing is solid and reliable. None of the others come even close to help me manage my day, respond to messages and simply get things done. I have stopped carrying a laptop on many business trips as the Z30 allows me to be very efficient and never miss a beat. I am dumbfounded by some of the 'professional' reviews and what criteria they used for their assessments. I consider myself a professional user of Technology and the simple fact is that the Z30 is by far the best all around mobile device for getting things done in my business life and family life. I feel this is an objective review that I can support with measurable data.

Unless you need the best in security and battery life, stay away. Not because it's a bad phone itself, its the ecosystem that messed up Blackberry's revival. Developers rightfully so have very little reason to develop for it very few people own Blackberry 10 phones. It's a endless cycle.

This is by far the best Blackberry ever made and for my needs the best Smartphone on the market today. I use for work 50% and 50% personal. I've always loved BBM and voice/video chat is a fantastic addition. The screen share feature is very undersold - it is incredible! I was in Mexico in November and video chatting with friend on his Z10 while allowing him via screen share to view all my photos - awesome feature! The battery life is second to none - eat your heart out IPhone users. I start my day at 6am and routinely have 30-40% remaining by 11pm after using all day. My friends with iPhone and Samsung are stunned by the battery life. Everything else about this Smartphone is outstanding . I would give iPhone the advantage in the camera department especially in low light environment . The browser is lightning fast on Z30 and the high resolution screen is stunning . If you decide to buy one, you will be pleasantly surprised with this hidden gem of a smartphone .
