Engadget Review

Dell’s XPS 13 2-in-1 is more than a companion to the excellent XPS 13 -- in many ways, it’s the sequel. It’s incredibly thin, impeccably designed and powerful enough to go toe-to-toe with any ultraportable. The fact that it can twist into a few different positions is a nice bonus.

A forgettable product. It isn't bad, exactly, but also doesn't do anything particularly well. - Engadget

It's not surprising that the convertible version of our favorite Windows laptop is a stellar machine. If you like the XPS 13 laptop, you'll probably like the XPS 13 convertible. This upgrade is particularly attractive for its slight redesign, particularly its 16:10 display, and for the improvements in battery life that you get with Ice Lake.

PC Mag
The XPS 13 2-in-1 delivers everything a cutting-edge ultraportable laptop should: excellent design and build quality, proficient computing performance, and long battery life. Its minor keyboard and fingerprint reader flaws keep it from earning the...rating that its clamshell XPS 13 sibling did, but it's nevertheless clearly the best convertible 2-in-1 laptop you can buy right now.

Notebookcheck
Dell's latest XPS convertible is unlike most Ultrabooks or convertibles we've tested this year simply because it checks off a long laundry list of uncommon features: Ice Lake-U, MagLev keyboard, vapor chamber, GORE cooling, 13.4-inch touchscreen, and a 16:10 aspect ratio. The result is a travel-friendly convertible with one of the brightest and most well-calibrated displays we've seen for its category. Unfortunately, you'll have to give up some upgrades along the way that may impact longevity.

Laptop Magazine
Dell's new XPS 13 2-in-1 boasts a powerful Intel 10th Gen Core i7 processor, a superbright 16:10 display and double-digit battery life, all wrapped in an ultraportable 2-in-1 design... However, the laptop's slim design comes at the cost of a shallow keyboard and scant ports. But overall, that doesn't stop the XPS 13 2-in-1 from earning its place as one of the best laptops out there.

Until Apple updates the MacBook Air with a quad-core 10th Generation Intel processor, this is my only everyday travel laptop. (And maybe even after the update!)

Tom's Guide
The Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 takes everything we love about Dell's flagship notebook and packs that into a versatile, touch-friendly design. This machine's got a jaw-dropping 13-inch InfinityEdge display, blazing Intel Ice Lake performance and a long 11-hour battery life that'll get you through a long mobile workday.

More than a simple refresh, Dell's latest stab at the hybrid laptop market sees its XPS 13 2-in-1 given a design touch-up while also — as one of the first Intel Project Athena compliant laptops — promising higher performance, better connectivity and all day battery life.

Dell provides a great all-around experience, with a phenomenal display, crystal-clear audio quality, an excellent MagLev keyboard, and a high screen-to-body ratio. It's a PC that just feels good to use. The convertible form factor adds a dimension to that, because you can use it as a tablet. With the pen, you can use it to take handwritten notes, to draw, to mark up photos, to draw routes in Maps, and so on.

Digital Trends
Whether it's the taller screen or better graphics, the XPS 13 2-in-1 makes a case for itself in a way that the previous iterations never did. The XPS 13 still beats it in a couple of areas, such as ports or battery life, but Dell has made a serviceable competitor to what is already the best laptop.

Tom's Hardware
Dell's latest premium convertible sports a bright screen and long battery life, plus improved performance thanks to a 10th Gen "Ice Lake" CPU. But a lackluster keyboard and build quality issues mean you may want to consider alternatives.
