HP provides solid performance for the price with the Envy TouchSmart 15, but it's held back from greatness by below-average battery life and a lackluster display. At first glance, the design of the TouchSmart 15 is fine, but TechRadar takes issue with the touchpad location, noting that its offset location resulted in them "pressing right-click" when they "meant to left click." The attractive exterior is matched by interior specifications that provide good "overall performance," though gaming on the machine is "mixed" due to its GeForce GT 740M graphics card, according to Laptop Magazine. The issues with the Envy TouchSmart come from a display that TrustedReviews says has a "grainy, meshy feel" which makes icons "appear less sharp," and a less-than-stellar battery life of just over three hours, which PC World calls a "less-than-impressive metric." If you mostly use the Envy TouchSmart at home it isn't a bad laptop, but the mediocre battery life and iffy display might present some problems on the go.
