This is a great device. The UI runs smooth on the quad-core CPU with 2GB of RAM to make sure applications run optimally. The camera is absolutely superb which is expected for HTC, especially given it's BSI sensor. It has wireless charging built-in and works with any QI-compatible charger which is definitely a plus. The screen is gorgeous with 444PPI; when I say you can't see a single pixel you really can't. The glass is absolutely impervious to scratches EXCEPT if the device is dropped the whole screen will shatter easily and render it useless. No, not a little hairline crack; the entire thing will pop like safety glass, sadly. All in all i'd say this device is pretty awesome, and you can't beat the low price of free on-contract. The only downside is the lack of a microSD slot but the built-in 16GB is meaningless when you've can sync up to 20,000 of your own songs into the cloud with Google Play for free.

This phone looks great on the surface, but I can't possibly recommend it. The display is gorgeous, the specs are still solid, and the size is perfect for me, but the quality is absolutely terrible. After returning my first two handsets for defects (dust particles under the screen and creaky construction being the causes), I finally got a device that appeared to work fine. That didn't last long. The cheap casing soon started to creak again, and new issues began popping up. My phone would stop recognizing my SIM card (a common issue experienced by DNA users I might add), leading to missed calls/texts and pissed off friends. Taping the card to the tray fixed this issue for a while, but it still comes back from time to time, and this type of malfunction is simply unacceptable for a phone in this price range. Worse still, I soon realized the headphone jack was low quality too. It only took half a year for it to start flaking out on me (yes, I cleaned it thoroughly to no avail), and even when it worked, interference from the antenna made plugging it into speaker systems a bad idea. A few days ago, it finally died on me, and I don't think it's coming back. So, if it isn't clear, I'm quite displeased. I think this phone could be great if it just worked, but seeing as neither my unit, nor my brother's unit worked correctly for even a year, I wouldn't say the odds of that happening are very high.

I love almost everything about this phone. My wife has the iPhone 5 and I prefer the DNA due to its razor sharp image and large screen. There is one major flaw with some of the DNAs. A number of users have reported intermittent SIM card errors rendering the phone useless without notification. The temporary fix requires turning the radio off and back on to reset (either by rebooting the phone or toggling airplane mode). I'm on my second phone due to this issue and it just started exhibiting the SIM card error a few days ago. I use an app called Signal Reset to work around the SIM card flaw.
