TechRadar
Huawei tries to cover all use cases with the Watch 2, and while it hits most of them, it doesn't do it in a way which is overly user-friendly. If anything, it strengthens the case for specialized smartwatches, rather than a one-device-fits-all approach.

Wareable
There's nothing wrong with it, per se, but there's just not a lot going for it when you look at the obvious competition. It's this lack of originality and a USP, combined with a slightly cheap-feeling and fiddly build quality, that leaves us a bit deflated.

While the Huawei Watch 2 is a wonderful showcase of all the new features and capabilities of Android Wear 2.0 and its particular focus on fitness, the new direction this has resulted in will be disappointing for those who are fans of the elegant simplicity of its predecessor.

TrustedReviews
The Huawei Watch 2 has plenty to appeal to runners, but a bland design and small screen means it falls just short of the podium.

A smartwatch packed with sensors that looks good and has Android Wear 2 onboard. We like it.

A great way to experience Wear 2.0’s new tricks, but its fitness features need to work better.

The Huawei Watch 2 is a more than decent smartwatch. I’d still recommend the Samsung Gear S3 above it for its superior exercise detection, fitness features and excellent battery life, but if you like the Android Wear way of doing things, this is the best I’ve seen so far.

While the Huawei Watch 2 has some useful fitness features, they're still not robust enough for us to recommend this Android Wear watch.

The Huawei Watch 2 is a very solid wearable. ... What would make the Huawei Watch 2 far more competitive, though, is a rotating bezel or crown to navigate through the menus.

The Watch 2 packs all of the hardware features you’d expect ... backed by Google’s ever-evolving and increasingly effective Android Wear OS. The standard strap might be a bit cheap and ugly, but that’s easily fixed and the overall design is chunky but lovable.
