Kingston’s Wi-Drive is a nice companion for your iOS device, especially if you are on a long trip and you’re unsure about Internet access while on the road. The file transfer limitation may be frustrating for people who are using the iPad for content creation, but it works well for content consumption.

Ultimately, we feel that, while a well-designed product that works fairly well, the Wi-Drive has limited appeal. If you need more storage, and need it now, then it's worth your while to consider the Wi-Drive or one of its competitors.

The Wi-Drive would make an excellent portable drive/storage expander for a tablet if it offered larger capacities and was cheaper. At its current state, however, it still makes a very good and convenient companion for those who travel and don't have a huge amount of content that needs to be carried on the go.

The Wi-Drive is a handy gadget to have if you need more storage, want a backup of important files, or want to stream a movie to all your kids' devices at once. At $150 or $200, though, it's an expensive add-on...

If you have multiple iOS devices and find yourself constantly swapping files from one device to another, or if you simply aren't interested in shelling out the cash to upgrade your current iPad or iPhone, the Kingston Wi-Drive may be a great accessory.

... it is otherwise a great travel companion particuarly, for those wanting to take that extra box-set or music with them, or for those who have limited storage on their phones or tablets and are not thinking of upgrading in the near future.
