Even though the screen is very good and easy to read even in dark contitions, thanks to lighting feature, there are several things which undermine overall usability. Mainly concerning software and interface which is not as logic and intuitive as it might be. Sometimes when you reached to somewhere and u want to take step back u just can't find a way because there isn't any. Highlighting text is completely in its infancy. Firstly, highlighting feedback is pretty slow and sometimes there is much struggling to end highlight exactly where you want to. Secondly, if u want to highlight text over two pages - from one page to another, that just isn't possible. You need to start new highlight on another page. Thirdly, u practically can't do nothing with the highlighted passages instead of watching them on device and find there original places in the book. It means you can't download them to computer and store them for further processing. There is a feature to share and post annotations to Facebook but this is also rather pointless feature as shared text shows up as a picture and it isn't complete. So you cant do nothing with it on Facebook either. Therefore highlighting feature is very disappointing.

A Great EInk Reader with good outlooking, front light screen and good reading experience. The bad side is the insufficient support on collection setup in the kobo windows software which only support the kobo library, but not for private books. Also, there is no protection case bundled with the reader. The official case is quite expensive!

It is light, easy to use, durable and has a truly fantastic screen. It supports ePub files and even Kindle content can be ported using free Calibre software and an easily Googled plug-in. The only thing that could make this better is a glass capacitive screen but I am sure that is on the way.

The screen of Kobo Aura HD is great, but the frame is made from a very cheap plastic. It is absolutely undurable and even makes CRACK-sound if you hold it in your hands. This "ergonomic" frame absolutely doesn`t make sense, because in most cases you use device with the case.If you look at the picture, you can see, that the frame is not solid and has two parts. If you carry your e-reader with you all the time, it is better not to buy Kobo Aura, because the frame was not designed for this and it is falling apart then you carry it in your backpack. There are also no quality accessaries. Most of cases are made from cheap textile and you have to replace them every quarter.Company was rushing for the competition, rather then for the quality.Hopefully they will hire more professional designer for the next model.
