The G Pro 2's screen is gorgeous and exactly what we've come to expect from high-end Android flagships. The particular panel on the G Pro 2 is a full HD (1080P) IPS display, meaning viewing angles are excellent -- especially handy with a phone of this size.

On first view, the LG G Pro 2 has a lot going for it - most notably with the improved camera skills making it strong for stills and shooting video. Throw in a couple of other neat software touches... The big question is at what cost?

The feature LG seems most proud of is the G Pro 2’s Knock Code function. An outgrowth of the company’s KnockON, which lets you unlock the phones display with two taps on the display, Knock Code lets you unlock your device using one of more than 80,000 knocking patters.

The LG G Pro 2 is a decent supersized smartphone and if it does manage to make it out of Asia then it will give the current crop of phablets a real run for their money.

Take a G-Flex, and smash it flat, and you've got a G Pro 2. The 6-inch display of the G Flex has shrunk just a little, to 5.9 inches, but since the G Pro 2 is flat, it can use a normal 1080p LCD screen, instead of the grainy, uneven, flexible OLED in the G Flex.

The LG G Pro 2 is basically a bigger LG G2. And many of you may prefer the slightly smaller body of that 6-month-old phone. However, if LG treats this new mobile like the G2 and tries to sell it at an aggressive price, it could be a top pick for those wanting an oversized screen.

The big advances in the G Pro 2 are a 20 percent improvement (relative to the G2) in the camera's optical image stabilization system and a 30 percent louder sound output, courtesy of a 1W speaker setup.

The G Pro 2 also continues the G Pro's hardware line with a removable battery and microSD slot, which is why there isn't a curved battery, which is definitely a big reason why the G Pro 2 doesn't have a significantly larger battery than the G2 despite its much larger size.

The LG G Pro 2, LG's new flagship phablet, is impressive but lacks one of the standout features I loved on AT&T's G Pro: at 3.22 inches wide (compared to the G Pro's 3 inches and the Galaxy Note 3's 3.12), it isn't narrower than the competition anymore.
