ICYMI: The new Studio Buds are the best Beats for most people
Also, we tested out Acer’s latest convertible Chromebook and a Make Noise synth.
The Make Noise Strega stands out in a world full of samey-sounding desktop analog synths. It’s an experimental music-making machine with a character all its own. And its amazing sounding lo-fi delay can be used to process external audio, like a guitar or vocals. It excels at gorgeous drones and nightmarish soundscapes, but it can also handle pads, bass and drums under certain circumstances. The $599 price will make it a tough sell for those on the fence, but once you’ve tried the Strega its appeal will be hard to deny.
