First of all, the Nike+ Fuelband SE is not a device for serious fitness buffs. It's lacks several features and does struggle to adequately log certain activities. That being said, for someone like me who really needs to get moving and active - in order to stay healthy - the Fuelband is the perfect addition to your life. ProsFuelpoints - Nike uses their own metric, called Fuelpoints, and this makes the idea of burning calories much more appealing.Move reminders - The Fuelband will give you hourly move reminders (once you've set this up - it's very easy through the app) which basically try to get you active.Constant tracking - The Fuelband can track all daily activities so that you constantly earn Fuelpoints. You can then access this data via the Nike+ app and through the website.Compete by yourself or with friends - The Fuelband places a lot of emphasis on creating challenges between you and your friends, and it's easy to set up social goals. For instance Nike suggested that I earn 14k Fuelpoints for 4 weeks. I took on that challenge and spread it through Facebook and now I'm competing with some old friends to get the highest number of Fuelpoints - it keeps me motivated to keep achieving.Rewards - The Fuelband takes everyday metrics and gives simple digital rewards and trophies for achieving and exceeding goals.Battery - The battery lasts about a week and a half based on how much you use the device. I leave the bluetooth off until I need it but wear the device constantly. Connectivity - Easy to connect to devices via usb and bluetooth.Stylish - Looks stylish and functions as a watch.ConsWater resistant - The Fuelband is not waterproof, you can keep it on for washing dishes or in the shower but you cannot take it for a swim.Features - The Fuelband lacks some really beneficial features such as sleep tracking, a heart rate monitor or a simple vibration based move alarm.Strap - The clip sometimes pops loose, but this does prevent the band from taking too much strain so a positive overall.Size - Getting a comfortable fit requires purchasing the right size Fuelband as well as getting the right sizing piece (included in the box) - It's like getting a metal strap watch you can only customise the size of the band a little depending on which link you choose to use.Activity logs - The Fuelband tracks your activity through your wrist and therefore it can't track your activity accurately if your wrist is stationary - for instance when cycling. OverallThe Nike+ Fuelband SE really is a great device for novice sportsmen and those looking to keep fit and healthy. It does lack in some key features compared with products like the fitbit. My pet peeve is the fact that it's not waterproof. But these are little changes that really don't affect anything in the grand scheme of things. It just means that when I swim i need to take off my Fuelband and still make sure that I get the Fuelpoints that I need to earn for the day.
