Engadget Review

Unfortunately the Lumia 820 can't offer enough to warrant not splashing out the extra cash for the 920 model.

Nokia Lumia 820 is one of those phones that you love and sometimes don't love that much. The phone in a sense is great. Never had any issues with freezing, slowing down or anything. The real star hear is Windows Phones and the hardware on which it is running. Although WP was designed to run on lower specd hardware, this phone with it's dual core CPU flies. Never stutters. Transitions way smoother than what you get on iOS and animations are amazing. The whole experience is great. That's the good part about WP. It provides a great user-experience. The problem is it sometimes feels too limited. I mean, the lack of sharing options and general OS functionalities that add to the experience of the platform is a hiccup. The lack of some of the major apps(which is now closing). But the real problem is the lack of apps by other developers who actually contribute with their excellent efforts and almost never get the limelight. That's where Android and iOS shines. It's not just about big names, it's about those developers who deliver excellent experiences. That is what lacking in Windows Phone.Overall I would say as a technology enthusiast, I have no problem using this phone because it's like an experiment for me. This is me testing Windows Phone. But for others, let me be clear, I would not recommend Windows Phone YET to a normal user/consumer.

The display resolution is small to comparable devices, however for me it is not a big difference, since letters are also not readable in small size, even with a bigger resolution.
