Engadget Review

Nura helped pioneer the trend of headphones with personalized sound. The Nuraloop brings that technology to a smaller, sport-friendly form factor. Not only that, but almost all the smart features we enjoyed from the original model have returned. The ability to connect them via Bluetooth and 3.5mm makes them more versatile than most wireless buds, while active noise cancelation rounds out the feature list. A few minor usability quirks might be annoying to some, but overall these are a stellar option for sporty music lovers.

Sound quality is excellent, as you would expect from Nura. But the execution of a ‘sport bud’ solution is lacking. I can forgive the over sensitive touch controls but the susceptibility to co-frequency interference is utterly atrocious in a Bluetooth solution of this quality. Paired with an Apple Watch in a high 2.4Ghz environment is a painful experience, mimicking a scratch battle between Terminator X and Norman Collier (google him). Add to this the bizarre proprietary charging solution that could easily have been USB-C and you have to wonder if these production decisions were made to make a point rather than considering the user. These could have been so great.
