Philips’ ingenious soundbar is the ideal solution for those who want true surround sound without the clutter. Its wireless speakers, chic design, polished sound and impressive spec justify the price tag.

The HTL9100 is definitely an interesting design, but get ready for the sticker shock: an $800 suggested retail price. The street price may be lower, but in that range the HTL9100 will be competing with excellent high-end sound bars.

The Philips Fidelio HTL9100 is a 5.1 channel sound bar system with a wireless free-standing subwoofer and two separate speakers detachable from the main bar for true surround sound. It is Bluetooth compatible, and also includes two HDMI ports.

The Philips Fidelio Soundbar HTL9100 notably offers a wireless system and subwoofer, based on proprietary wireless technology, so the uncompressed audio signal will not interfere with nearby Bluetooth or Wi-Fi devices.

Hands up who still has home cinema speakers strewn around their living room? Not many, we'd wager, but Philips thinks that you secretly want to return to the days of 5.1 if only there was a way to ditch the cables and clutter.

It's hard to say a truly bad word about the Philips Fidelio Soundbar. It looks good, it sounds good, is super simple to set up and the modular satellite speaker experience is fun.
