The Tab4 has most of the fit and finish befitting a member of Samsung's premiere Galaxy line, with phoneArena calling its build quality "flawless." However, they also found the design rather "uninspired," with CNET noting that the Tab4 "isn't much of a looker" due to its plain plastic construction. At least the screen looks nice, with CNET calling it "fine" while phoneArena says it's pleasant despite lacking the characteristic "pop" of a Samsung display.
The Tab4 could still try to wow with its performance, and to that effect CNET says "performance is pretty good" though gaming is "more of a mixed bag." The Tab4's battery life is a little more of a contentious issue, with phoneArena finding it rather excellent while PC Mag declared it "mediocre." CNET took the middle road on battery life, calling the 10 hours they eked out "about right."
There is nothing particularly bad about the Galaxy Tab4, but there's also nothing outstanding about it. It's a fairly middle-of-the-road product, in a field comprised of similarly-priced tablets that can offer a lot more bang for your buck.
