Engadget Review

Wacom's smallest Cintiq is a capable add-on, but the lack of wireless connectivity and multitouch gestures leaves us wanting more.

The new pen-sensitive (not touch sensitive) 1920 x 1080 display makes things look small onscreen, but the pen has Wacom's usual accuracy so we didn't struggle to hit controls.

As with all of Wacom’s higher-end tablets, you can expect an excellent and highly naturalistic pen-like response from the Cintiq 13HD.

Strong on its main function, but lacking when it comes to the details, the Wacom Cintiq 13HD is a slightly frustrating product that could have much better ... if only it came with multitouch, a better stand and more cable options.

If you’re an existing Cintiq user, the 13HD is a no-brainer. It’s got everything you’ve come to know and love, and it either complements a larger device extremely well as a more-or-less mobile solution, or replaces older hardware with big improvements over the last generation.

To sum up, great piece of kit at a much better price than the 24HD and takes up way less space. If anything, the screen is just a tad too small. We found our eyes straining after an hour.

At $999, the Cintiq 13HD is a wonderful small-screen tablet display and an easy purchase. It’s held back only by its lack of Multi-Touch.
