Engadget Review

The touch model adds gestures to the highly capable Cintiq 24HD pen display, but we aren't so sure that they're worth the extra investment.

If you are a professional illustrator, you should get it. ... Because of the increased workflow speed, at $2500 it will pay for itself in a few good jobs. Also, if you are looking for a new machine and monitor, you can avoid buying the monitor and get the Wacom Cintiq 24HD.

Our first impressions are that Wacom has ironed out all our concerns and niggles about the previous top-end Cintiq to make for a compelling all-round professional product that simply has no rivals.

The Cintiq 24HD is a heavyweight offering in every sense of the word. But if the devil’s greatest trick was convincing the world he didn’t exist, the Cintiq 24HD’s is convincing you that a 30kg device is invisible when you’re working on it.

For professional CG artists, 24HD’s bright, high-contrast, high-definition, 16:10 aspect ratio display should be reason enough to seriously consider upgrading.

The H-IPS panel might not sound that special on paper -- 1920 x 1200 resolution, 550:1 contrast, 178 degree viewing angle -- but those specs overlook the gentle matte quality of the anti-glare display, which is clearly designed to be stared at closely for hours on end.
