To dispense with the information we are obligated to convey: Developer Anuman has announced the development of a new game based on the comic book series XIII. Apart from the title, XIII: Lost Identity, all we know is that it's coming to Mac, PC, iPhone and iPad this November. Now, let's get to the important part. Among the many things we don't know about XIII: Lost Identity, the most pressing detail is obviously the potential involvement of David Duchovny, who starred in Ubisoft's XIII way back in 2003. We've discussed our lingering, perhaps unsettling love of The X-Files here on Joystiq before, so we're considering this a top priority. Starting now, the comments section on this post has officially become the sign-up sheet for our new movement, "100,000 Strong for David Duchovny in XIII: Lost Identity." • Blizzard reveals mage tier 13 raid gear

Blizzard has been on a spree of patch 4.3 raid information recently, first showcasing the new warrior tier 13 Colossal Dragonplate Deathwing-inspired armor as well as the warlock tier 13 General Vezax/Faceless Ones-inspired set called the Faceless Shroud. Druids and shaman also got to see their new gear. Mages are next up for a tier 13 sneak peek as well as a retrospective on the previous tier sets to showcase all the past mage regalia for transmogrification when the patch hits. This new set, Timelord Regalia, looks absolutely awesome, with crazy explorer goggles and a nice color scheme. Mage tier sets have always been pretty cool, in my opinion, but this takes the cake. I love the goggles. Cataclysm armor design has been top-notch throughout, and this final raid's epic sets really bring home the weight of our actions at the end of the expansion. %Gallery-133939% Brace yourselves for what could be some of most exciting updates to the game recently with patch 4.3. Look at what's ahead: new item storage options, cross-realm raiding, cosmetic armor skinning and your chance to battle the mighty Deathwing -- from astride his back!

  • HP Envy 13 exhumed lacking Voodoo DNA

It's been months since we've heard a peep from Voodoo or its swaggering founder, Rahul Sood. Now it seems that one of the changes headed to the Voodoo brand is no branding at all judging by the pics of this purported Envy 13 from parent company HP -- it steals both the name and size-indicative numbering from the Voodoo Envy 133 without a hint to its heritage. The 13.1-inch laptop is said to run Windows 7 on an Intel chipset. Visually we can see a pair of USB jacks, HDMI, and trackpad that looks to be packing some special sauce. A peak at Sood's Twitter account calls Tuesday "D Day" with the promise of "new product coming out in September/October (ish)," that will make you, "the envy of all your friends." In other words, we expect to learn more tomorrow. • Inspiron Mini 13 now listed on Dell Canada website

Dell might have axed the Mini 12, but it seems like there's quite a few models waiting to fill the void -- we just saw the Inspiron 11z go on sale this morning, and now there's a mysterious link for an "Inspiron Mini 13" showing up on the Dell Canada site. We're assuming that means the hot new Inspiron 13 that launched in Singapore last month is about to make its North American debut with Mini branding -- and although calling a 13-inch machine with a 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo and ATI Mobility Radeon HD4330 graphics a "Mini" seems a little odd, we can't say we'd be surprised if it came to pass. We're digging for more, keep a sharp eye.[Thanks, Chris]

  • Archos 10s and 13 laptops get the video treatment

Archos hit us with a couple new laptops earlier this week in Paris, and just as you'd expect, the crew from ArchosFans was there to grab some video of the new machines. The new Archos 10s pretty much just the Archos 10 repackaged in a slightly smaller package, while the Archos 13 is the company's foray onto the CULV scene -- it's pretty nice-looking for $800, but we're still wondering how Archos is planning on distinguishing either of these from the million other me-too netbooks and thin-and-lights on the market with the exact same specs. We'll find out soon -- they're due in August. Videos after the break.Read - Archos 10s Read - Archos 13

Hey, it's just a color change but red is undeniably sexy especially when wrapped around Dell's design-heavy Studio XPS 13 and 16 laptops. Already rumored and spied, a post over at Dell's Direct2Dell blog makes the Merlot Red laptops official. Man, high-gloss finish with red leather accents... it's like kissing Betty Page. Er, was that out loud?

  • Rumor: FFXIII director predicts demo in 2008 [update]

We know that Final Fantasy games, much like fine wine and Radiohead albums, take some time to come together nicely -- still, it's hard for us to believe that Final Fantasy XIII (in all its shapes and forms) will be dropping any time soon. We've had our hearts broken so many times by delays for hotly anticipated titles that we've sadly come to expect them.Fear not, for the long wait for the Fabula Nova Crystallis collection will be over soon enough. According to FinalFantasyVersusXIII.net's translation (there appear to be conflicting versions), game director Motomu Toriyama teases that a playable demo for FFXIII would be arriving in 2008 to show off the game's revamped battle system. So don your steepled hat and cuddle tight your cactuar plushie -- your chance to sit down with the unluckiest chapter in Square Enix's seminal RPG franchise may have just gotten a teensy bit closer.[Update: We originally posted an incorrect interpretation of the original translated comments. The post has been corrected and Joystiq apologizes for the error.][Update 2: Square Enix has released an official response – and we eat more crow.]

  • Virtually Overlooked: Golgo 13: Top Secret Episode

Welcome to our weekly feature, Virtually Overlooked, wherein we talk about games that aren't on the Virtual Console yet, but should be. Call it a retro-speculative. Golgo 13: Top Secret Episode isn't exactly a great game. In fact, it's more like an awkward agglomeration of a lot of not-that-great games into one game that is mostly mediocre. But somehow, out of its many imperfect elements, it manages to deliver an impressively James-Bond cool story that motivates players to continue the experience.

Turns out the scenario work on the upcoming game from Square Enix is about 80% complete, according to Motomu Toriyama. Along with the decision to go Blu-ray as one DVD was apparently not enough to contain the beast that is Final Fantasy XIII, the team believes that the shader abilities of the PS3 will help them convey the deep, rich emotion that fans of the franchise demand.
