Snoop Dogg's rhythm/fighting game Way of the Dogg is now available on XBLA for 800 MS Points, which is far less than the cost of changing your name and becoming a reggae artist – believe us, we looked into it. The Elite Beat Agents-esque game is also "coming soon" to PlayStation Network, iOS and Android, according to publisher 505 Games. In other Snoop Dogg related news, we recently found a horrible bootleg hip-hop mixtape that we bought nine years ago at a thrift store for like $0.48. Early reports indicate that it is still completely awesome.%Gallery-187454%

The THQ back catalog auction results are in, with Nordic Games riding away with the intellectual property (IP) rights to Darksiders, Red Faction and MX vs. ATV for $4.9 million. The company picked up nearly all the assets in the auction, including Titan Quest, Supreme Commander, Frontlines, Stuntman, Juiced, Full Spectrum Warrior, Destroy All Humans and much more. "First and foremost we are very happy about this deal which also turns over a new leaf for the entire Nordic Games Group. In the long term, we either want to cooperate with the original creators or best possible developers in order to work on sequels or additional content for these titles," said Nordic Games CEO Lars Wingefors. "A very important point for us is not to dash into several self-financed multi-million dollar projects right away, but rather to continue our in-depth analysis of all titles and carefully selecting different financing models for developing new instalments of acquired IPs." The other reveal is 505 Games grabbed the rights to Drawn to Life and Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter for $300K. The news follows this afternoon's unexpected acquisition of the Homeworld franchise by Gearbox Software. We now know the price tag for Gearbox to re-release the original games on digital distribution networks and take a swing at its own spin on the real-time strategy franchise was $1.35 million. We've listed the winning bids in greater detail after the break.

A third entry in the Sniper Elite series is coming to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and next-gen platforms. That's according to a financial press release released in January by the parent company of 505 Games, the Milan-based Digital Bros. We asked 505 Games why everyone missed the fanfare for its new shooter."We were hoping the news would remain quiet within the Italian financial community until we could formally announce the game which we plan to do soon," a company representative told Joystiq. Sniper Elite 3 is "expected in 2014" from independent developer Rebellion, which owns the Sniper Elite franchise.According to the original financial release [PDF], Sniper Elite 3 "will have an impact on the Group's revenues for FY 2013-2013 of 28.6 million Euros (approximately $37M USD)." The release states that Sniper Elite V2 – which launched in 2012 for the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 – "gained worldwide success around 1.1 million copies and 28.6 million revenues sold since the April 2012 launch to the end of December."Update: 505 Games has confirmed to Joystiq that Sniper Elite 3 is also in development for PC. Starbreeze has revealed new features, game upgrades, and a release window for Payday 2, the sequel the Overkill-developed multiplayer shooter Payday: The Heist. According to a new fact sheet released today, Overkill's latest is due out this summer as a downloadable game on Xbox Live Arcade, the PlayStation Network, and the PC via Steam. The first game only offered a few different "heists" to play, but the sequel features CRIMENET, a "contract database" offering dozens of different jobs to take, which can take place across multiple stages and change according to certain equipment purchases (like a faster escape car or an inside man). Additionally, each level has a new amount of dynamic content, including random layouts or rare events, and finishing each job rewards loot like new masks, weapons, or other accessories.Players also get to choose a profession of Mastermind, Enforcer, Ghost or Technician, each with its own skills and equipment to use, and can work their way up from the lowest thug on the totem pole to high-end heisters as they play. That summer release is coming up quick, so we should see more of the game very soon.

It's built, according to Ciaran Walsh, director of developer Echo Peak, "around [Snoop's] music and love of '70s Kung Fu and Blaxploitation movies."Way of the Dogg will be out later this year on XBLA, PSN, and mobile platforms.%Gallery-180588%

Terraria, the PC creation conceived by the small staff at developer Re-Logic, will finally make its way to the digital storefronts of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Developed by Engine Software and published 505 Games, the console version of Terraria features fresh content, including a new big bad dubbed Ocram as well as additional enemies, weapons, pets and inventory items, and is scheduled to arrive at "the end of February or early March," according to 505 Games community manager Logan Rosenstein. The console version's biggest addition, however, is the ability to play Terraria with a controller. It's initially hard to picture playing Terraria without the combination of a mouse and keyboard. The basic movement controls are simple enough, but inventory management, mining, and construction are all governed by a pointer-based interface that is best left for a mouse to handle. The gamepad controls developed for the port aim to offer the best of both worlds."The biggest challenge [the dev team faced] was the controls," Rosenstein said of the porting process. "The PC version is so heavily reliant on the keyboard and mouse, so the dev team spent a lot of time and a lot of effort working on the controls. They did several different layouts and several different practice runs."%Gallery-178191%

Terraria digs into XBLA and PSN in February, 505 Games' YouTube description on the above video reveals. The video itself shows off the brand-new content coming to the console versions, which we heard hints of back when the only release window was "early 2013."The console version of Terraria will include new controls (shocking), a world map and a new tutorial, armor, ultimate weapons, enemies, pets, music and a shiny new final boss. Terraria on consoles will also include local, split-screen multiplayer for up to four people and eight-player online multiplayer.Terraria hit PC on May 16, 2011, from developer Re-Logic, and by September 2012 it sold 1.6 million copies. It's kind of like developers at Re-Logic are digging for gold, but they found 1.6 million people to do all the actual labor for them.

Nintendo had a lot to talk about today, what with the release date, price and specs of a new console and its hefty software launch lineup. It's not surprising it couldn't specifically show off every game headed to the Wii U during its launch window, November 18 - March 31. Two of these games, Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper and Funky Barn, are notable after the fact because of their assets – one for having a full trailer and gallery, and the other for featuring chubby piggies.Tecmo Koei's Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper will incorporate the WiiPad in local two-player co-op, hacking and slashing across two screens, the above video shows. It includes characters from other Tecmo Koei franchises, and includes a duel mode, which is new for the Wii U.%Gallery-165297%
