Intel's work in sports can be found across the world's best leagues, from the MLB, NBA and NFL in the US to Spain's La Liga soccer tournament. Over the past few years, it has been trying to make games more immersive for fans, using camera technologies that offer people more viewing options than a traditional broadcast, like enjoying matches in virtual reality or watching 360-degree video replays. And now Intel plans to bring this to the English Premier League. Through a new partnership with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City (three of England's biggest clubs), Intel will start utilizing its True View tech at their stadiums, which will capture "every match from every angle," the company says.

The USAF wants to use the F-35 as a stealth scout plane

The F-35 Lightning II is the most advanced multirole fighter America's ever built. Problem is, that to maintain its stealth capabilities, it has to store all of its munitions within its body. This significantly limits the amount of damage it can deal to enemy forces. That's why the US Air Force wants to convert for use as forward scouts and leave the heavy weaponry to remotely-guided "arsenal" planes.

Selfie sticks, whether you love them or hate them, are now officially a thing. Their numbers appear to have exploded over the Christmas period, allowing new owners to begin working on their very best self portraits. The increase of these telescopic rods hasn't gone unnoticed, though, as some Premier League football clubs have began outlawing their use inside stadiums. The Mirror reports that North London clubs Arsenal and Tottenham have now banned selfie sticks from the Emirates and White Hart Lane over fears they could be used inappropriately on matchdays.

  • Undead Labs talks about guns in State of Decay

Today's official blog post about State of Decay is not about careful examination of different cultures. It's not about understanding what creates a zombie and how the sickness can be stopped. It's not even about the careful process of finding and maintaining your food supplies in the wake of societal breakdown. No, this is a blog post about guns. It is all about the weapons you will use to blow the undead into little bite-sized chunks of zombie. The centerpiece is a huge list of guns that players can expect to find and shoot in the game, each with varying properties and ammunition types. It's also meant to expand in the future. So there's no subtlety here, just deadly firearms and the promise of using them to mow down shambling zombies to ensure your own survival. What more could you really want? Aside from functional vehicles and a planet not crawling with monsters that want to eat your brains, of course.

  • Counter-Strike: GO gets Arsenal Mode with help from modders

When Valve launches its new download-only Counter-Strike game next year, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, it'll add several "Arsenal" modes to the multiplayer FPS. The Washington-based developer has announced a partnership with the creators of the popular "Gun Game" mod, on which Arsenal is based. In Gun Game, players start with a simple gun and then gain access to more powerful weaponry as they score kills. The Arsenal "Arms Race" and "Demolition" modes will collectively add eight maps to CS: GO, and "expand on the classic Counter-Strike gameplay." Beyond its Gun Game lineage, we haven't yet seen how Arsenal mode plays out. We'd bet on there being quite a few dead terrorists by the end, though.%Gallery-134634%

  • Sony set to bring PSP replays, streaming for Arsenal matches

If you ever find yourself preparing to trudge off to London's Emirates Stadium in attendance for an Arsenal match, then you might want to make sure you pack a PSP along with the essentials ... like Carling and a brick. Why you might ask? Because you can use that PSP to watch live streaming video pertaining to the current match, go over football data and statistics, and even have the ability to watch near-instant replays. This soon-to-be-ready, Sony-developed system has been tested at the London stadium which gives any game-goer access to all the marvelous features above -- right on their PSP. It'll apparently roll out in 18 months. We think this is a rather smart move by Sony. After all, once hooligans finish throwing that brick at their least favorite player, they have another object of ample shape and size to toss in anger. Which, in the end, means more PSPs to be potentially sold. It's win-win.[via Gizmodo]

  • Arsenal fans could catch replays, live action on Sony's PSP

As we're confident that you know, one of the biggest downsides to catching an event in-stadium is the inability to see instant replays. Oh sure, a few venues play back sequences for the fanatics in attendance, but you'll still get a much better angle from the comfort of your own couch. English soccer club Arsenal is hoping to remove that obstacle from fans' minds by testing out an instant replay system with Sony's PSP. In theory, at least, a Sony-developed application would enable patrons to "watch live streaming video of a game, along with data and statistics, and provide the ability to watch near-instant replays." 'Course, we've already seen Bluetooth added to venues and a similar system as this installed at Safeco Field, but we still envision this being a hit if it's really rolled out within 18 months as planned.[Image courtesy of Panstadia]

  • S.PORT brings replays to PSP

London's Arsenal fans better pack their PSP systems with them when traveling to their next game. Sony is introducing a prototype streaming program called S.PORT which will allow PSP owners to see replays, stats and other game scores via a wireless feed within the Arsenal Football Club."It will allow you to check to see whether or not a player really was off side", said Eric Siereveld, Director of Retail Transport Venues at Sony. There's a lot that Sony will have to address before the program goes live, such as whether or not it can work on other devices. If the services proves popular enough, there's no reason not to expand it: "It could be used at any stadium around the UK, or even a golf match where it is sometimes hard to see the ball flying through the air."According to Pocket-lint, a trial is expected to begin shortly.[Via CNET]

  • Arsenal equip new stadium with HDTV

The Dolphins aren't the only one with HD aspirations, Arsenal Football Club (the other football) has teamed up with Sony to outfit their new stadium with high definition from top to bottom. With a whopping 439 screens all connected via network (sounds like they'll be using these). The Baltimore Ravens went with a similar approach last season with the help of Panasonic.Seems like a great way to introduce the fans to HD, as they walk through the stadium and enjoy games they'll surely want one of those nice new TVs for their home, and that is what Sony is betting on. When your local team comes begging for funds to build a new stadium, would you prefer two big 720p screens, or several hundred smaller LCDs?
