Dear Aunt TUAW: Why does iTunes hate me?
Dear Aunt TUAW, There's nothing I love better than to put on a nice long multi-hour playlist while I'm working, but sometimes reality intrudes. I get a call, and I need to pause the tunes. If I'm visiting the iTunes store on my Macintosh, then the iTunes application totally loses my place in my playlist. I have to restart my shuffled playlist, and I end up hearing song after song that I've already listened to repeat in a way that ticks off my subconscious. Help me Auntie! How do I pause my playlist to take a call and be sure that I don't lose my place? Why does iTunes hate me? Thanks a bunch, Vittorio F.

Dear Aunt TUAW: What is this "Region 4" you speak of?
Dear Aunt TUAW, I saw that you posted (in your secret other identity) that you've ordered a Region 4 DVD of The Almighty Johnsons from Mighty Ape in New Zealand and will be watching it on your Mac. Last time I checked, I read that Macintoshes locked themselves to whatever DVD region you first inserted. How are you planning to watch Region 4? Do you use a region-free DVD player? Dear Aunt TUAW, Help me Auntie! I've got a zillion--maybe 3 or 4 less--bookmarks. I want to validate the good ones and discard the bad. Is there an app for that? Dear Aunt TUAW: How do I restore an iPad backup to a new device?
Dear Aunt TUAW, I've searched your site for information on this to no avail, and I suspect several others will be faced with the same dilemma. Seeing that you are the authority in the field, I thought I'd ask you. Here goes... I've recently sold off my iPad 1 on the used market in favor of getting the iPad 2. Prior to selling it, I applied the iOS 4.3 update and performed a full backup on the device using iTunes. And so to my question: Will I be able to perform a restore by use of my [iPad 1, iOS 4.3] backup onto my new iPad 2 in order to smoothly get all my settings and apps up and running on the new device? Dear Aunt TUAW, So my MobileMe account is expiring on the 15th, but the rumors are all abuzz about the possibility of Apple launching MM as a free service in April. Sure, they're usually pretty good about giving some sort of refund or iTunes store credit if you're in a window just before they do something drastic, but I don't want to pay $99 now for $50 on iTunes in a month. Dear Aunt TUAW: How can I tame iOS with my Apple Wireless Keyboard?
Dear Aunt TUAW, It would give me great comfort if I could rest my head on your bosom of knowledge and have you answer this troubling question. Auntie, why isn't there better support for the Bluetooth keyboard on the iPad? I mean love my keyboard (no... not as much as you Auntie... silly) but all I can use it for is typing. I mean, I should be able to use the navigation keys in the Safari browser? Like scrolling up/down/etc. Hotkeys when in the Springboard or in an app? How about games using the keyboard for controls (ASWZ) as an option? None of that works. I know, Auntie. Dear Aunt TUAW: What's my best bet for international data?
Dear Aunt TUAW, I will be in China for 10 days on vacation later this year, and I'd like to share photos, updates, etc. with friends at home. What's the best way to do that? I have an iPhone 4 and a Wi-Fi only iPad. As far as I can tell, my options are to either buy into AT&T's international data plans (although I don't mind the price, the minimal amount of data you get probably won't be enough) OR unlock my phone and get a China-specific SIM (complicated, and I'm unsure how to get the SIM and make sure it works). Perhaps I might be able to get a MyFi-like hotspot device that would work in China, but I'm not even sure such a device exists. So what's the best option for data when traveling to China? Dear Aunt TUAW: Do I need to upgrade to Aperture?
Dear Aunt TUAW, I have a ~100 GB iPhoto '11 library. I currently have it on an external FireWire drive because I didn't originally have space on my internal drive. All that has changed, and I am now looking for tips on how best to manage this library and be able to back it up regularly. iPhoto '11 seems to be working fine right now (takes a little bit of time to start the app, but nothing really excessive). However, I really want to start backing it up on a regular schedule -- would splitting it up make sense (only the latest library would need to be backed up, which would take much less time). It sucks that you can only access one library at a time in iPhoto. Would moving to Aperture seem a natural at this point? Any and all help including backup/sync progs would be helpful. Dear Aunt TUAW, I've been hearing rumors that the next generation iPad might include a proximity sensor. Now call me dim, but I just don't get it. Proximity sensor? What the fudge? But I realized that a great feature of AppleTV is the AirPlay functionality. It seems strange that the mini (that costs 7x more) lacks this functionality.
