Either someone changed their minds after seeing the outpouring of fan-love, or the rumors of Camp Hyrule's closure simply weren't true, but whatever the case, the virtual camp is on again. However, since it seems 2007 is the year in which things grow smaller, the camp is somewhat scale down this year. Looks like there will be less of a community atmosphere, which is what so many people tend to look forward to ... but perhaps NoA is listening, and next year, Camp Hyrule will be back in full flower. Camp Hyrule, the virtual summer camp moderated by Nintendo, has been devastated by earthquakes, floods, Bowser attacks, and meteor showers. So, to celebrate its 13th year of operation, the camp has decided to shake things up a bit with the biggest disaster yet: closing its doors. That's right, no more Java-based summer camp games or Photoshop contests, plus you'll have to find a new excuse to dart around in tights and a tunic. To ease the separation anxiety, the site will hold a contest from August 13-26 to win a life-size Link statue. Fond memories not included, but bitter resentment is free.[Via DS Fanboy]

This one really should have been a no-brainer. Nintendo announced that the Wii would weigh in at less than $250 come release date. They didn't waffle or hint, but instead stared us in the eyes like women men discerning individuals and declared their intentions. We like that. But a certain convenience store contest got everyone all lathered up over a little line in the rules declaring that the Wii prizes were worth $299. That fine print birthed a seed of doubt. Had the price changed? According to the prize rules for Nintendo's Camp Hyrule, the answer is a world of no. Camp Hyrule's fine print lists the value of their Wii prize as the familiar and comfortable $250. Our staff magic 8-ball is leaning towards the original $250 pricetag, but we'll keep you posted on all the sudden speculation.[Via Joystiq]

Apparently, we have a lot of very excited little campers, because just about every single one of the Camp Hyrule participants has flooded our inbox with the fact that it mentions in some legal writing area that the Wii will not exceed $250 -- you see at Camp Hyrule they are giving away a Wii as a prize.Thank goodness Captain Obvious is here at Joystiq to calm everyone down. Listen, fans, we understand your excitement at every little bit of Nintendo info that squeezes out into the Internets. But, when you see something that's already been stated months before -- and a few times we might add -- it's pretty safe to say that we already knew the Wii wouldn't exceed $250. Phew. Another case solved by Captain Obvious. Thanks Cap.
