  • Motorola Charm coming to T-Mobile with 'enhanced' Android 2.1 Motoblur? Update promised for CLIQ and CLIQ XT?

Usual rules apply -- we can't independently confirm this at the moment -- but a tipster has sent us what appears to be T-Mobile training materials for an upcoming Motoblur-infused candybar smartphone, the Motorola Charm. Only this Motoblur is allegedly powered by Android 2.1 and boasts the same scalable widgets as we saw on Droid X, in addition to improved Facebook / Twitter integration (hello, Like and Retweet) and the usual Eclair refinements. As far as the hardware is concerned, there isn't much to glean from it at this point, aside from a textured QWERTY keyboard reminiscent of the CLIQ and a "camera" button denoting some form of memory-capturing capabilities. Speaking of which, the materials mention that the enhanced Motoblur is heading to CLIQ and CLIQ XT. Let us bookend this entire post with another reminder that none of this is confirmed, but we do know more than a few T-Mobile users who would love to get their mitts on a candybar Android. %Gallery-96395% [Thanks, Anonymous]

  • iChocolates: Edible apps for you

If you like chocolate, have US$46, and always wanted to eat those app icons on your iPhone, iChocolates are for you. iChocolates consist of twenty pieces of gourmet chocolate, crafted after the icons of iPhone apps and arranged in an iPhone-like package. Each individual chocolate app is made of organic, extra-dark, 100% cocoa butter chocolate and is hand cut and set by a French chocolate designer. As of this writing, iChocolates are sold out, but they do have eight of their iChocolates Mothers Edition available (also $46). Perfect for mom? Perhaps, but then again, once you figure in the $17 shipping fee from Paris, you could just give her a 2GB iPod shuffle for less. [via DailyWh.at]

  • Mabinogi's Easter Egg-scavation

    03.31.2010

If Easter has taught us anything, it's that chicken eggs are an odd but reliable source of candy. This is generally not good press for chickens, as they already suffer from being tasty and associated with cowardice. Nexon's Mabinogi hopes that your Easter egg hunting skills are strong and sharp, as they invite players to participate in an egg hunt to end all egg hunts. It turns out that these aren't ordinary eggs, either. Laid by the fabled hens of Erinn, their eggs occasionally come out (why not) fossilized. It's these fresh-yet-ancient eggs that demand attention, as players will extract their stony yolk in search of an iconic Easter Egg Capsule. These capsules contain (why not) candy, which, when eaten, bestows the adventurous eater with various stat bonuses and unanswered questions as to which came first: the chicken or the petrified egg. Start your egg-scavating by heading over to the Mabinogi website and firing up this colorful MMO.

  • I went to an Apple Store on Halloween and they gave me... a bookmark

Several TUAW readers have tipped us to the fact that many Apple Stores were in the Halloween spirit last night, handing out treats for ghouls, goblins, and Mac nerds who wandered by. However, it sounds like Apple was playing the anonymous homeowner to Charlie Brown, who always got a rock instead of candy in his bag. The Apple Stores were not giving out sugary treats to the tots with their parents in tow, but they did get bookmarks. Yay. The bookmarks are pretty cool, though. Printed in a beautiful turquoise color, the iPod nano-sized bookmarks have magnets on the inside tips so you can fold them around a page and they'll stick. Apple design savvy strikes again! Apple fans apparently "ate up" the bookmarks; the post on iPhone Savior mentioned that one store was out of them by 7:30 PM. I'm thinking that we should use Apple's use of a bookmark as a giveaway as a hint about the legendary iTablet / ebook reader... What do you think Apple should have given out to the costumed crowds last night instead of bookmarks? Leave your comments below. [via iPhone Savior]

  • Free Realms video answers player questions about Halloween update

We're noting that there's a slew of Halloween events happening in the MMO world this month, and it comes as no surprise that Free Realms is getting in on the fun as well with a "Super Spooktacular" Halloween update. This is the topic of the latest "Ask a Dev" video with Associate Game Designer Julie Burness and Lead Character Artist Matt Case. The Q&A is done in costume, with questions from the players themselves on the Free Realms forums. The Free Realms devs discuss the new content which includes Halloween themed quests, werewolf and dinosaur costumes, and all kinds of holiday items -- like candy that turns players into... something else. There's going to be trick-or-treating in Free Realms as well, where players will have to scare others to get treats. We've got the video for you, so stick with us after the jump for the Free Realms "Ask a Dev" devoted to the Super Spooktacular Halloween update.

  • Nibuca's route for picking up candy

Unfortunately, even though I really want "The Hallowed" on my Paladin, he's not quite 80, so going to face the Headless Horseman will be a problem for me. But I may still run around and pick up all of the candy quests, now that they're up and running during Hallow's End. They're only a part of the big meta-achievement, but it might be worth getting them out of the way anyway, and the XP is supposed to be pretty good (especially if you're getting the Heirloom bonuses, which I am).If I do go, I'll be using Nibuca's handy route to all of the candy buckets -- she went through for you and figured out the quickest and easiest (or at least a quicker and easier -- it may not be perfect, as she says, but it works) way around to all of the candy quests in old Azeroth and Outland. You'll have to do Northrend on your own, but you may want to wait on that anyway, as it's supposed to be slightly bugged. If you are planning on getting all of your just desserts this year, Nibuca's route should be extremely helpful.

Today is Easter for those of you celebrating around the world, and what better way to celebrate than with Peeps? Specifically Peeps attending an Apple event -- these guys were made by Sarah Kohari and Erin Mastrangelo of Washington, and are part of the Washington Post's yearly Peeps diorama contest. This one is number 38, and they also made number 39 as well.We like it, obviously, especially the little Steve Jobs peep, as well as the iPeep nanos (in, apparently, all of the different colors Peeps come in). Happy Easter to everyone -- may you have candy and chocolate of all kinds (if that's what you're looking for today), and may all of your egg finding go well.

  • Play PSP, eat PSP candies

Ever wanted to eat sour candy out of a PSP-shaped tin case? Well, in about two months, you can. Online retailer Urban Collector has a pre-order listing for "PSP Sours" (pictured above) and will be selling 12-pack boxes for roughly $32. Although PSP Sours is an interesting concept, something tells us that it isn't an official, Sony-licensed product. Anyway, let us know if you spot PSP Sours in your local grocery or convenience store. We want to know if they're any good -- and, more importantly, if the little candies are shaped like PSPs, too. Now that would be cool. [Update: Actually, these candies are the real deal, a SCEA rep has confirmed with us. Apparently, the little candies inside are shaped like the face buttons: X, O, Square and Triangle.][Via Electricpig]

According to the reader who sent this our way, this candy dispenser looks "exactly" like a Wiimote, except it fires candy out of the spot where the IR transmitter should be. Apparently the instructions suggest that you "Do not aim at face," so... it's kind of like the real thing.[Thanks, Timothy]

After having the chance to actually get out there and start my Egg Hunting, I can confirm that no, there really isn't anything new for the Noblegarden event this year. That's alright though, it entertained me for awhile, and I know for a fact that the Midsummer Fire Festival has a lot more in store. On the bright side, I did get my Elegant Dress this year! An entire day dedicated to finding this dress last year got me nothing but cruddy candy. Within twenty minutes this year, I got my dress! Of course, it doesn't look very good so I'll probably never put it on my character again, but I have it. That's good enough for me.If you're not able to participate in the event, or you're reading this after it has ended, do not fear! You didn't miss out on any leet items, and I did my best to capture the fun of the event in the gallery below. Go on, take a look! You know you want to. %Gallery-19015%

  • Pokemon candy, nom nom!

We don't know much about this "Mini Car Candy Toy" set being sold at Play-Asia. All we know is that it's the Official Pokemon Mini Car Candy Toy, meaning all the others you've owned before this point were just crap. We're also not sure which part of these toys are edible. Is it the cars themselves, or is there candy inside the cars? Either way, we want them. The only time we love sweets more than usual is when Pikachu is involved. The candy is also available in Chimchar, Piplup, and Turtwig flavors mini cars for your enjoyment. While it might be expensive for what it is, you really can't complain about the $4 price tag too much. We're still confused about these things, but we're going to assume that they're a must-have for die-hard Pokemon fans.[Via DCEmu]

var digg_url = 'http://www.digg.com/nintendo/Valentine_s_Day_for_the_gamer_in_your_life'; Valentine's Day might be all about spending ridiculous amounts of money on crap sharing sweet moments with that special someone, but that doesn't mean that those moments -- and the gifts -- can't be tailored to your specific quirks. If you're blessed with a significant other with a particular gaming-related fandom, why not get creative and find gaming-friendly ways to juice up the holiday? Wii Fanboy is here to help, of course, with some holiday gift ideas for all the gamers out there who view the approaching holiday with the utmost dread. From the traditional candy and glittering jewelry to ... well, gifts of a more unique variety, we've got everything you need (if it's Nintendo-related).And, for the really clueless, we've also got some handy tips on what not to buy. Valentine's Day gift-giving can be dangerous. You don't want to be beaten with violence when your S.O. starts opening boxes, after all.

This item up for auction on eBay is purportedly a cast of a Nintendo reference model for Mario, used to make sure that all depictions of the character are consistent. However it looks slightly off-model to us. Mario's appearance has changed many times over the years, and this piece doesn't quite seem consistent with any of them. If this is really what the seller says it is, it's an amazing and unique collectible that represents an ideal Mario. If not, it's ... actually still a pretty neat Mario statue, though it has a busted arm. That would probably be easy enough to fix. Also found on GameSniped today: a cotton candy machine made by a pre-video-game Nintendo. [Via GameSniped]

Stumped when it comes to that super-special, unique Valentine's Day gift? Give your sweetheart tiny chocolate people! It's sweet, it's geeky and cute, and you can make Soylent Green jokes and get away with 'em. Paul Pape Designs is offering up little chocolate Miis for Valentine's Day. Each couple (available in milk or white chocolate, and any mix of genders) comes tucked in a little box that looks like a Wii and have little cinnamon hearts bursting from their chests. • Wiimote candy dispenser puts yummy in our tummies

If we had to make a list of things that we love, Nintendo and candy would both be pretty high up there. That's why we want one of these Wiimote candy dispensers. Sure, it can't actually be used to play games, but it dispenses candy, and that's the next best thing. Spotted at the All Candy Expo, these candy filled Wiimotes were made by a company called Au'some. Au'some also has other Nintendo themed sweets, like the Mario Kart DS tire candies. Check after the break and you'll be in for a treat! (See what we did there?)

Halloween in Japan is apparently pretty cool, at least in terms of the corporate response. Brian Ashcraft from Kotaku showed off this trick-or-treat bag from the Pokémon Center in Osaka. Of course, it's quite a nice bag, with full-color, completely original Pokémon art covering every surface. But what's really cool is that the bag is filled with Pokémon-branded candy and treats! We find that kind of dedication impressive. It's also just plain nice of the Pokémon Center to hand this stuff out, even if it is a tactic to bring people in. We imagine that most places would give out a plastic bag or a single piece of candy at most.

We hope that the candy contained in these little mushroom tins is exceptionally delicious, for two reasons. First, as a default condition, we hope all new candy is delicious, as it should be. Second, everyone who buys this stuff is going to be in a rush to empty out the tin anyway, to display it on a desk, or use it as a shot glass, or fill it with paper clips or something. Maybe if you get it, you can put the candy in a Zip-Loc bag or something.Surprisingly, with video game-related candy comes a video-game-esque method of purchase. FractalSpin is out of stock at the moment, so you have to preorder your candy. These items are $3 each and are expected to be in stock on October 4th.[Via GayGamer]

Move over Mama, there's a new set of cooks in town. Make that a nest ... of bunnies. Sanrio's Sugarbunnies, to be exact, and they are ready to bring you on board for a delicious candy-making revolution. Bunny twins Shirousa and Kurousa have been charged with making candy for everyone, and as far as we can tell, they have to select the right recipes and ingredients to satisfy a variety of sugary cravings through Cooking Mama-style minigames. But the Sugarbunnies go beyond the limits of Cooking Mama, it seems, as they need to harvest the proper ingredients for the recipes. Sounds a little like Animal Crossing on the farm and in the kitchen to us, and that's really all we need to know to be interested. The Sugarbunnies will be bounding onto the DS in Japan this fall.

  • Crafty Wii user creates chocolate Wiimote, nunchuck

If you're even considering making a late night grocery run to stock up on post-Valentine's Day chocolate sales, hold your horses. For those who just so happened to keep the original packaging from your Wiimote and nunchuck as any true geek does, or you need a delicious excuse to run out and grab another set, you're well on your way to edible nirvana. A crafty Flickr user utilized his culinary skills along with the plastic packaging that accompanied his Wii accessories in order to make molds for Wiimote / nunchuck chocolate, which look mighty scrumptious if we may so say ourselves. While we're not experts on creating our own choco bars, it has certainly been done a time or two before, so why not indulge yourself a bit with a little calorie-packed Wiimote after a vigorous round of Wii exercise, cool?
