Zotac adapter turns your DisplayPort into two HDMI jacks
You can never have enough HDMI ports, that's what we say at least. Heck, what does that gaming rig you just put together have? Two? And that MacBook Pro of yours doesn't have any at all. But, if there's a DisplayPort hanging around, you can add a pair HDMI jacks with an adapter from Zotac. This little dongle turns any DisplayPort or Mini Displayport into a dual HDMI hookup, with support for two 1920 x 1080 monitors -- provided your graphics card can handle it and the HDMI group doesn't kill the product first. Pricing and availability are still up in the air at the moment, but you'll find a few more details in the PR after the break. Update: Zotac just reached out to let us know both adapters will be retailing for $50.
LG W63 enters gaming monitor arena, claims to be the best
You can't exactly accuse LG of lacking audacity -- the company that today unveiled the eccentric Color Pop displays has also updated its consumer monitor line with a gamer-centric Full HD entry that has everything but humility. The 23-inch W63 touts a new Thru Mode, which sacrifices image processing to deliver "zero-delay" visuals, a 1,000:1 (real) contrast ratio, 2ms response time, 300 nits of brightness, two HDMI inputs and picture-in-picture functionality. There's even a Tru Light equalizer-like thingy at the bottom of the screen that pulsates in time with the sound of your glorious battle triumphs and Skype message pings. Eizo's 24.1-inch FlexScan HD2441W LCD does Full HD
Eizo's HD2451W not good enough for you? Looks like the firm is cranking out yet another widescreen monitor, but the differences aren't all that substantial. Nevertheless, the FlexScan HD2441W sports a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, 3,000:1 contrast ratio, 450 cd/m2 brightness, 178-degree viewing angles, HDCP-compliant DVI port, VGA, twin HDMI inputs, OutlineEnhancer filtering, audio out, several USB ports, picture-in-picture, and a touch sensitive slide bar to access the on-screen display adjusters. Thie device will be arriving in black, a white-silver combination, and titanium silver color schemes, and will include a five year warranty to help you rest easier. No word yet on price, but it should be filtering onto select shelves any minute.
I-O Data's 24-inch LCD-MF241X offers dual HDMI ports
It had been a tick since we'd heard from I-O Data's LCD department, but its latest offering steps it up from the 22-inch version seen earlier this year by expanding the screen real estate and adding new inputs. The LCD-MF241X sports a 24.1-inch 1,920 x 1,200 panel, comes in black or white motifs, and offers up DVI, VGA, composite, S-Video, and twin HDCP-compliant HDMI connectors. Additionally, you'll find a trio of USB ports mounted on the side, and a wireless remote can switch the inputs for you while kicked back on your couch.
