After downloading the recently released expansion pack for XBLA game Eets: Chowdown, our tipster Deacon played through it a bit and noticed something quite out of whack. After he placed a light sensitive chocolate chip into a mine cart he saw the image above. Yup, that out of whack pink "default texture" box tells us that the developers mistakenly forgot to create a texture for light sensitive chocolate chips in mine carts. Silly Klei Entertainment, now Eets will have to try and chowdown on a pink texture box. Doh![Thanks, Deacon "Deekman" Ross]

  • Eets can chowdown on new DLC

Released yesterday alongside SPFIITHDR, Streets of Rage 2 and the new expansion pack for Bomberman Live was a new puzzle pack for Eets: Chowdown that we somehow breezed right over. For only 200 Microsoft points Eets: Chowdown owners can purchase Puzzle Pack 1 off the XBLM and enjoy "more explosive items" and over "20 new levels to explore". Sounds enthralling. We're sure this Puzzle Pack 1 purchase will be one of those things where you end up buying the new content simply because you already own Eets and because 200 points isn't that big of commitment. But that doesn't make it bad now does it? Put on your spiffy new bib, it's time to chowdown.

Today was poised to be another double header for Xbox Live Arcade. There's only one problem you see: you can't have a double header without two games. Upon booting up the trusty Xbox this morning, Eets was nowhere to be seen. Pinball FX was there (and it's pretty decent, by the way), but Eets: Chowdown was a no show. According to comments on MajorNelson.com, the game was briefly available but failed to launch once downloaded. It looks like the game was pulled as a result. It's unfortunate because we were particularly looking forward to Eets. Now all we have is pinball. 360 fanboys am cry. We've asked for an official explanation from Microsoft, and we'll spread the word when we get a response.Update 1: It looks like Eets is back up and ready to download (or re-download). Commence chowdown ... now!

Yesterday, to go along with the announcement of the double header Wednesday with Eets: Chowdown and Pinball FX, the guys over at Xbox 360 Achievements uncovered all the Achievements for Eets: Chowdown, while having had Pinball FX's set for a while now. So go ahead and take a quick peek and what you'll be shooting for in the puzzle game. We're kinda craving a Double Marshoburger ourself. That being said we're kind of curious why "Smoreland" is worth 0 Gamerscore. Anyway, the game looks promising, will you be playing it tomorrow?

For the second straight week in a row we have two XBLA titles releasing this Wednesday in one amazing double header. Both Eets: Chowdown and Pinball FX will be released on April 25th to the XBLA with both games setting you back 800 Microsoft points. We can't deny that we are extremely excited to get our hands on Eets, but are definitely open to a little pinball fun too. With two twofer XBLA weeks back to back we can't help but be excited for the Arcade and how it is shaping up. Now Microsoft just has to keep the goods rolling through certification and nobody will be verbally abused. So, is anyone excited for this week's Arcade offerings?

It looks like that silly rumor was true as Microsoft just announced a bigger memory card for the Xbox 360. The new 512MB Xbox 360 memory card will be available April 3rd, will retail for $49.99, and for a limited time will come pre-loaded with Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved. Simultaneously, the ancient 64MB memory card will drop in price to $29.99 (be on the lookout for clearance prices). Also, with the announcement of the new 512MB card, the XBLA size limit will be raised from 50MB to 150MB allowing developers to run wild with their creativity. Microsoft also announced that they'll be showcasing XBLA titles Boom Boom Rocket, 3D Ultra Minigolf Adventures, Eets: Chowdown, Jetpac Refuelled, and Pinball FX at GDC. Check out the full press release after the break. So, after reading that informative spiel what is your gut reaction? We definitely agree with raising the XBLA size limit to 150MB and find the 512MB memory card to be a much better deal than the old 64MB version. And for curiosity's sake, is there anyone out there who just purchased a 64MB memory card and is kicking themselves?

  • Rumor: XBLA to get Eets and Luxor 2 [update 1]

XBLArcade brings us two juicy rumors today. The first is that Klei's Eets is headed to Xbox Live Arcade. According to an entry from the USK (essentially the German version of the ESRB), a 360 game called EETs Chowdown (in the "Arcade" genre) has been rated appropriate for all ages. Naturally, the speculation here is that Eets must exist in order to be rated. Not ironclad proof that the game is headed for the Arcade, but it's a significant marker to be sure. You can check out an Eets demo here. The second rumor is that MumboJumbo's Luxor 2 is also headed to the arcade. Luxor 2 (play the demo here) is something like a combination between Breakout and Zuma, in which players match different colored balls as they come tumbling toward the bottom of the screen. The rumor stems from a rating found on the ESRB website. To see it yourself, search for Luxor 2 and restrict the platforms to the Xbox 360. Granted, we have no confirmation on either of these titles, but with review code out there somewhere, signs definitely point to yes. Good news, especially for those of us crying for some non-action Arcade titles.Update: Klei is responsible for Eets. NinjaBee is only a distributor.
