Cadillac revealed its first all-electric Escalade today. The 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ is a $130,000-and-up extravagance using GM’s Ultium batteries to offer a 450-mile range. But its price isn’t the only thing that’s formidable about the SUV: It’s even bigger than standard gas-powered Escalades — and nearly as long as the long-wheelbase model, the Escalade ESV. However, Cadillac says it’s still “estimated to be the most aerodynamic full-size SUV ever produced by GM.”

Cadillac has been making automobiles for well over a century but on Thursday evening the carmaker unveiled its first vehicle produced that lacks an internal combustion engine. The Hummer SUV is already getting an EV reboot for 2022 and GM is also reportedly working on an all-electric pickup that could be released as early as next year.
2021 Cadillac Escalade packs 38-inches of curved OLED screens and Super Cruise
Tonight Cadillac took the wraps off of its new Escalade, finally revealing where it's putting all 38-inches of curved OLED screens. That high-res display -- with twice the pixel density of a 4K TV, as Cadillac points out -- is split up across three screens, with a 7.2-inch touch panel to the driver's left, a 14.2-inch screen info cluster behind the steering wheel and the 16.9-inch infotainment system. Where it comes in handy, is that with vivid colors and deep black levels, the company says it doesn't require any kind of shrouding or hood to block glare from outside light. This is also the first Escalade to include the Super Cruise driver assistant that provides hands-free driving on some 200,000 miles of highways in the US and Canada. As the company announced last week, the newly upgraded tech will include automated lane changing, as well as improvements to its steering and speed control.

Cadillac is beefing up the Super Cruise driver assistance system with several features, including automated lane changing. As such, your car will be able to change lanes on some highways under certain circumstances when you tap or fully latch the turn signal. The driver attention system will make sure you're focused on the car's surroundings while it's moving into a different lane.
Cadillac’s 2021 Escalade will boast a 38-inch curved OLED screen
In a teaser video published today, Cadillac offers a glimpse of the 38-inch, curved OLED screen that will arrive in its 2021 Escalade. Cadillac says the display will have "twice the pixel density of a 4K television." It didn't share much beyond that but plans to reveal the Escalade during Oscars week, on February 4th.
GM extends OnStar smartphone control to 14 more vehicles
Once solely slated for the Chevy Volt, the OnStar MyLink smartphone app has gained considerable ground -- last July, GM expanded the iPhone and Android remote domination over your horn, door locks, and real-time data to every 2011 automobile, and now it's reaching back through time to activate fourteen vehicles from 2010. As you'd expect, that's mostly a smattering of SUVs and crossovers like the Cadillac Escalade, Buick Enclave, GMC Yukon and Chevy Avalanche, though the Impala will also get the goods, and if you live in the lap of low-end luxury, you may be able to listen to Facebook updates on your 2010 Cadillac DTS or Buick Lucerne.
