The 2020 Mobile World Conference (MWC) in Barcelona was one of the first tech casualties of the COVID-19 pandemic, with the February date canceled after a lot of debate. The next event was ambitiously scheduled for March of 2021, but that event has now been postponed as well. The GSMA, the industry association behind MWC, has announced that it will now be now be held from June 28th to July 1st, 2021.

Rocket League's annual Halloween event is about to get underway and this year, it'll be a crossover with Stranger Things. The Farmstead Arena will take on a distinctly Upside Down vibe, and the Netflix mega-hit's terrifying Mind Flayer will cast an ominous shadow over the field. It's not quite clear yet how or if the monster will affect your attempts to score goals, but Psyonix warned players to "make sure to look after your teammates."

It doesn't look like Huawei has any more surprises left up its sleeve ahead of its Mate 30 launch event tomorrow. Yesterday, renders of the whole phone range leaked, now real-life images have emerged on Weibo (above), and it seems that details for event's entire line up have found their way into the public eye. As revealed by Android Headlines, Huawei appears to be getting ready to announce the Watch GT 2 smartwatch, a new fitness band, a TV, and the worldwide release of the MediaPad M6 Android tablet.

Huawei will unveil its flagship Mate 30 smartphone in Munich, Germany on September 19th, it has confirmed in a tweet and short video. The tagline "Rethink Possibilities" sounds very appropriate, as the company reportedly won't be able to sell the device with Google's official Android OS and services like the Play Store, Maps and YouTube. That's due to the fact that US companies are currently banned from doing business with Huawei.

Xiaomi has officially launched the Mi 9 at an event in China after months of teasers. The triple-camera flagship is powered by Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 855 chip, and is supported by 6 to 8GB of RAM -- depending on which model you get. During the event, company chief Lei Jun confirmed a new Game Turbo mode, which he claims will boost the phone's performance and optimize its screen during gaming sessions. He said it was tested to maintain a higher frame-rate than "a competitor's 980 device" can, seemingly throwing shade at Huawei.

You're probably used to the presence of facial recognition cameras at airports and other transport hubs, but what about at concerts? That's the step Taylor Swift's team took at her May 18th show at the Rose Bowl, in a bid to identify her stalkers. According to Rolling Stone, the camera was hidden inside a display kiosk at the event, and sent images of anyone who stopped to look at the display to a "command post" in Nashville, where they were cross-referenced with other photos of the star's known stalkers.

If you're the sort who regularly tunes into device launches, you've probably noticed that Apple's October 30th iPad Pro event was set to clash with OnePlus' 6T premiere -- in fact, they were within an hour of each other. That's a bit of a problem, isn't it? OnePlus certainly thinks so. To that end, it's moving the 6T debut to one day earlier, on October 29th. If you were inclined to follow both, you won't have to juggle multiple liveblogs or streams just to stay current.

Razer is expected to unveil its second phone on October 10th

Razer sent out invitations today for an October 10th event where it's expected to unveil its Razer Phone 2. The invite doesn't say as much, but the company noted in a financial report last month that it was working on a follow up to its Razer Phone and some reported images of the new phone leaked earlier this week. If it is launching its latest gaming-geared smartphone, it's doing so just one day after Google reveals its newest Pixel phones and a day before Samsung's upcoming Galaxy event. That's a lot of phones in one week. But don't forget, there's also a Microsoft Surface event, a Huawei launch and likely a OnePlus debut in October as well. Hope you're ready for a lot of new gadgets.

Samsung has released invitations for an October 11th event that teases a new Galaxy device and the cryptic message "4x fun," CNET reports. What that could mean is really anybody's guess, but there are some rumors circulating that may give us a clue. Samsung Mobile CEO DJ Koh said earlier this month that it was "time to deliver" on the company's long-awaited foldable smartphone, but he mentioned it could be unveiled -- emphasis on could -- at the Samsung Developer Conference in November. Another possibility could center on cameras. Leaker Ice Universe tweeted last week, "Samsung Camera Camera Camera Camera," later noting all four would be on the back.

Ticketmaster has partnered with Samsung's Bixby, allowing users in North America to find and purchase event tickets through the virtual assistant. The feature is powered by Ticketmaster's API and Galaxy Note 9 users can now ask Bixby to find events by artist, team, location or date. Just say something like, "Hi Bixby, find concert tickets in Los Angeles," or, "Hi Bixby, what sporting events are happening in New York this weekend?" The assistant will provide results fitting the request and users can then purchase tickets to events available through Ticketmaster.

Google is quickly turning its event info from a nice-to-have extra into a major feature. If you're searching from your phone, you'll now find key details for events without having to jump to websites or apps. If it's a concert, for example, you'll find out where and when it's taking place, directions and other details. You can either jump to a ticket service if you're sold on the idea or save an event for later. And if you're not sure what to look for, you'll get some help there as well.

On the night of September 19th, 1961, Barney and Betty Hill were the victims of the first widely publicized alien abduction in US history. The Hills, an interracial couple active in the civil-rights movement, were on their way home from a trip to Niagara Falls when they noticed an unusual light in the sky. Shaken by the erratic behavior of the UFO, they headed in the direction of the closest town but never made it.
