A little over a week ago, we told you about Beau Turkey (from Spouse Aggro) and his participation in Extra Life, the gaming marathon created by Sarcastic Gamer and the Texas Children's Hospital to raise money for the Texas Children's Cancer Center. He easily achieved his goal of $192 -- raising $270 -- but he was one of many, many people who pitched in their time and money to help out. Thanks to Beau and all the others who helped out, Extra Life hit quite a milestone. Yesterday they announced that they had raised over $150,000 -- an amount well over last year's total which will see 100% going to the Cancer center (Check out the header for a running total). Extra Life has designated this Saturday as "make up day," when participants can finish up their full 24 hours, if they couldn't make it before. Of course, the site will remain open for donations until then as well. We applaud Beau, Sarcastic Gamer, and all of you who participated. Thank you!

Beau Turkey, the guy-half of the Spouse Aggro blog and podcast -- and a regular guest on our own Massively Speaking podcast -- is participating in a very special charity event all day today. The charity is called Extra Life, and it is a 24-hour gaming marathon with the slogan "Play games, heal kids", created to raise money for the Texas Children's Cancer Center. Beau has chosen his games -- twelve games for two hours each -- and posted his list here. He's included in-game names and servers for each game to make it easier for those who'd like to join him. If you're more of a voyeur, Beau has been kind enough to set up live streaming video of the event as well. We're predicting that it's going to be pretty fun to watch, especially around hour eighteen or so, when he starts to lose feeling in his right hand.Of course, it's good if you want to watch; better if you log in and play with Beau, and best if you donate. Beau's goal is a pretty reasonable $192.00, and you can help him reach it here. Good luck Beau, we think you're doing a great thing. Hope you have plenty of coffee on-hand!

Wow, talk about milking a franchise. Just a year after they and 1300 other gamers helped raise $120,000 to fund pediatric cancer research and treatment, Sarcastic Gamer is gearing up to hold the Extra Life charity gaming marathon again. (Really guys? Annualizing? Maybe they should get Madden as a spokesperson, AMIRITE?)If you, for some reason, want to support a sequel instead of an original IP, you can sign up to take part right here. Then, find a few people to sponsor you to play games all day Oct. 17. Here's hoping that next time Sarcastic Gamer can find a cure for sequelitis.

I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday weekend! I have a nice list to help you kick-start your day. Unfortunately, it seems that Cru the Dwarf will not be updating this week, due to technical difficulties. The featured photo is not of his computer, but it seems he will need a new one before the comic can resume. In the meantime, you can donate, or express your overwhelming sorrow! Dark Legacy Comics: Common Descent. Experience Points: Murlocs vs. Fries. Extra Life: It's all made of ones and zeros. Flintlocke vs the Horde: War Party part 2. Shakes and Fidget: Practice Makes Perfect. Check out the latest from LFG. Wolfslatoxx from NoObz. I love that little robotic dude. NPC: Purple Death Puddles. Teh Gladiators: Double Trouble. The Adventures of Disgraph T. Dwarf: Standing Out. World of Warcraft, eh? It's like, totally In the Nick of Time.

or, "They possess more flying fish than I expected."Although it is Monday, this morning I am going to pretend that it is in fact, Sunday. After all, no one really likes Mondays, even if they're manic. Luckily for you, I have quite the list of comics for your enjoyment! Awkward Zombie has posted another WoW-related comic, Stinking With Portals. Cru the Dwarf is now on page 72 of his echoing through time. Dark Legacy Comics points out the No-Fly Zone. I lean towards agreeing with them that the general placement of said zone is inconvenient. It seems to be a conspiracy on the part of the Flightmasters to convince me to pay them to fly me to Coldarra or Sholazar Basin. Have you ever wondered what life would be like if your reputation gains worked the same way as in-game? Actually, have you ever considered bravely sending a special someone an in-game gift? Experience Points has. In Flintlocke vs. the Horde, there seems to be a disagreement about who should be included as an adventuring buddy. GU Comics is Looking for Clever. Actually, Woody is looking to whore hire himself out! Check out the various ways you can put him to work and get some cool, collectible, and/or custom stuff. Check out the latest from LFG. Manic Graffiti always gets me smiling! Check out, Noobcow and Lame Jokes Heard While Waiting for PuGs to Start. Massive Pwnage has an inkling of what might be better than WoW. You Should See PvP. I always knew Flapcat was better than Ally-bird! Air Superiority was determined this past week on Monkey Punchers. NoObz points out that, especially for noobs, World of Warcraft can be a source of Stress. I know that many of you last week were disappointed with Ding!'s re-return, and unfortunately, there's no new comic this week. Teh Gladiators: Ping-Pong. World of Warcraft, eh? warns, You Won't Like Me When I'm Angry. The Scout Report has posted #63 and I love it. Unfortunately, I found out that when I tried to hit "Previous" to see if I had missed any other comics since last Sunday, it took me back to #52. So I recommend either jumping back five comics, or just reading from #52 if you think you've missed a couple! From The Adventures of Disgraph T. Dwarf comes Nuts Make Me Giggle. On this musical-fruit-note, I end this week's list!

This week, I have a nice sizeable list for you all! It seems that most artists are back and hard at work. I also have added a new comic for the list, so get comfortable and start reading. Cru the Dwarf seems to have steered into some trouble. On top of that, he's gone and gotten everyone lost! Dark Legacy Comics has The Shoveltusk Problem. Experience Points relays tales of a raid. A battle's going down For the Birds. Check out the latest from LFG. Thanks for your comment last week, boo. Technically, this list is for WoW-related comics. Sometimes I include comics for other games or MMO's in general, if the subject matter seems relevant to something WoW players experience, such as lag or loot issues. I include LFG because many people consider it to be appropriate here, and because I think that it is something that WoW players would likely enjoy. The classes and races are familiar, and it isn't too difficult to skim back even a few comics to find the beginning of the current storyline. GU Comics presents Mr. Zappy Pants, a bit of a collaborative project. All of you Dalaran chefs out there might just relate to these comics from Manic Graffiti: Noobcow and the Wine and Cheese Platter and High Crime Rates in Dalaran. So many players seem to be in such a Rush. NoObz sees you skipping quest text. From The Adventures of Disgraph T. Dwarf comes, I See Dead Dragons. World of Warcraft, eh? presents Hat Trick. Extra Life has this piece of advice: Go With What You Know. Massive Pwnge, a newbie to the list, presents Clammy. Teh Gladiators are up to more adventures, in shiny new locations. On The Scout Report, we learn a little about the origin of the name Scout. Ding! tells us a bit about Free Falling.

In case you might have forgotten, like I almost did, today is yet another Sunday. The stores are crowded, the kids are home from school, and competing to finish your dailies is a little more stressful. Why not relax with your weekly dose of WoW-related comics? Flintlocke has been terrorizing Darnassus. Donald's Dedumbification is the latest Dark Legacy Comics entry. Experience Points examines the economy, and the obviously unforeseen consequences of username choices. Check out Simple Minds from Extra Life. Check out LFG's latest. Noobcow Pugs a Heroic. Teh Gladiators presents Stupid is the New Black. WoW, eh? hosts another guest comic.

We've all had gaming sessions so lengthy that a thin layer of film formed between our posteriors and our furniture -- but rarely have we ever had a worthwhile reason for doing so. However, as of 9 a.m. today, gaggles of stick-to-it-ive gamers set off on a 24-hour gaming marathon to raise money for the Texas Children's Cancer Center, as part of Sarcastic Gamer's Extra Life charity event. While it's too late to join in today's festivities, a "Rain Date", scheduled for next Saturday, will allow latecomers to garner donations and participate in the marathon. Not interested in developing bedsores? You could always donate directly to the cause -- or offer participants in your area a tall cup of coffee (or a much appreciated hand massage).

It's another 24-hour gaming event for charity. This one features our friends at the PS Nation podcast, and will begin tomorrow. The team is asking for donations of any kind."Extra Life is about getting a new group of people involved in helping fight pediatric cancer. There are plenty of "walk-a-thons" and "run-a-thons" and honestly many who consider themselves "gamers" might not participate in that because it doesn't interest them. Extra Life is about going to a completely different group of people and asking them to help out and do what they enjoy at the same time."To find out more and to donate, click here. Our friends at Sarcastic Gamer are putting together a very special gaming marathon to benefit the Texas Children's Cancer Center. Set to begin October 18, 2008, Extra Life asks gamers to help raise money during a mass 24 hour gaming marathon. The concept is simple, sign up on the Extra Life website, find four sponsors willing to pay one dollar per every hour played, and start playing on October 18. All of the money earned during the marathon will go to the Texas Children's Cancer Center at Texas Children's Hospital. To find out how you can become part of Extra Life, head over to the official website.

With billions of loyal fans visiting our site each hour, we have a considerable, almost daunting amount of power. It's a power we occasionally use for evil or just for stupid, but we decided this morning that we'd do something good with it for a change and direct your attention to Extra Life.Fresh from the victory of their non-boycott, Sarcastic Gamer is once again rallying the troops, this time asking them to set aside Oct. 18 for an all-day gaming marathon. All you have to do is get friends and loved ones to sponsor your decadence with money that goes straight to the Texas Children's Cancer Center. It's like a charity fun run, but for fat people. It's a great effort, but do us a favor and take at least a couple of breaks, will you? The last thing you want to do is fight cancer while you die of dehydration.

This week, Sunday Morning Funnies includes ranting, crying, joking, and even some crazy old guys trying to fight each other. Prepothteruth from Dark Legacy Comics talks about predictability and improbability that can creep into plots. Extra Life speaks out against level 30 mounts, crying, I earned that thing! Shakes and Fidget meet The Guardian. You even get a joke, an intermission, and some explanations (sort of). You may have noticed that we've been talking about the Spore Creature Creator lately. While it isn't Warcraft-related in itself, many people have been using it to create sporelings similar to WoW characters! We even have a gallery. So, to celebrate, and pique your curiosity, I am including GU Comics' The Spore Creature Editor. LFG's Richard is starting to go a little bit bonkers. No no, more than before. In fact, he even fancies that he has a destiny. NoObz has a lovely father and son moment. Ding!'s Kissybear is taking a walk on the Alliance side of things. Teh Gladiators come upon an old, old arena match. On The Adventures of Disgraph T. Dwarf, Shari begins ranting about the rampant use of the word "gay" by certain types of players. Are you ready to cast your vote?
