The teaser for Friday night's (well, Saturday morning's) episode of GameTrailers TV is appropriately laden with gooey, fresh-baked exclusives, though among DLC details for Call of Duty: World at War and info about Resident Evil 5, one segment promises to be especially eye-catching -- the "worldwide reveal" of Pure developer Black Rock Studio's next racing title, Split Second. Or, wait -- did it actually reveal the game in said teaser? It's like, out there now, right? We're pretty sure that counts as a revelation. From the four seconds of Split Second cinematics shown in the teaser (which appears to have come from Black Rock's teaser video, seen above), as well as Geoff Keighley's ominous voiceover which warns, "watch out, Burnout," we're guessing it'll be in the same ludological vein as Criterion's cash cow. We've contacted a Disney Interactive rep for more info, but we're sure to find out more when GTTV airs Friday night (Saturday morning) at 1 a.m. EST.

  • Call of Duty: World at War co-op mode pits players against Nazi zombies

There's been a number of pleasant surprises that have come out of Treyarch's upcoming installment in the wildly lucrative Call of Duty franchise -- such as the inclusion of Jack Bauer, and its uncanny resemblance to the previous, well-received chapter in the series. However, last night's episode of GameTrailers TV brought another shocking (yet welcome) revelation, straight from the mouth of Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia -- Call of Duty: World at War will contain a four-player, co-op zombie (of the Nazi variety) survival mode. Those who currently aren't busy scraping pieces of their blown mind off of the wall behind them will probably be interested in a few details Lamia mentioned -- the gameplay mode (which is unlocked upon the completion of the single player campaign) will place four players in a central structure, then assail them with wave upon wave of undead national socialists. Throughout the game, players will collect money which can be used to fortify their compound, or purchase new weapons. Also, there will be Nazi zombies.Stoked parties can catch a glimpse of the SS Zombocalypse in Chapter Four of last night's GTTV episode, now available online.

  • Halo Wars cinematic trailer makes its GTTV debut

We were awakened last night by a terrible din -- a wailing which echoed through our streets like a funeral dirge. The sound poured from nearby houses; voices making slightly varied proclamations with a singular theme. In near-unison, they pierced the night: "WHERE IS MASTER CHIEF?", "WHY NO LASER SWORDS?", and, perplexingly, "GEOFF KEIGHLEY, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH CORTANA?"These confused souls were reacting to the cinematic trailer for Ensemble Studios' swan song, Halo Wars, which debuted on GameTrailers TV last night. For those who were laying eyes upon the title for the first time, we can understand any resulting bewilderment. The trailer (which we've posted after the break) is excellent, though it boldly lacks the things players love about the series to date -- including any sign of returning characters, or any heinous acts of postmortem facial desecration.

After years of reading literature and watching films concerning the subject, we consider ourselves fairly knowledgeable when it comes to surviving the inevitable Zombocalypse. That's why we've never been too intrigued by what we've seen of Valve's co-op horror title, Left 4 Dead -- we've hypothetically been there, and we've hypothetically done that. However, a spot on last night's episode of GameTrailers TV featured gameplay footage from the "Infected" (see: Zombie) point of view, giving us our first look at how the other half lives. (Un-lives?)It looks like they've done a great job of balancing the highly armed survivors with the shambling brain-eaters, giving pulseless players enhanced zomb-o-vision as well as a myriad of interesting abilities. Check out Chapter 3 of the online episode if you want to see the reanimated carnage -- just don't forget whose side you're on when the world goes all Thriller on us.

As we reported during E3, the next evolution of the Gran Turismo series isn't Gran Turismo 5 – it's enhancements to the glorified GT5 demo, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. Specifically, Sony and series creator Kazunori Yamauchi are all revved up about the roll out of Gran Turismo TV, an on-demand video service featuring motorsports shows from around the world – as well as original programming – accessible from within GT5P's front-end.We've learned that these features will finally hit this Friday, August 1 as part of an update for the game demo. Auto aficionados will be able to download episodes of programs including England's Top Gear and Japan's Best Motoring. Programming created by Polyphony Digital itself – and indeed even hosted by Yamauchi – will also be up for purchase. Speaking of which, SCEA has announced that PPV content will cost 99 cents per episode for the first two weeks of GTTV, after which it will increase to $1.99.In addition to the debut of GTTV, Sony has confirmed that some welcome gameplay tweaks will be introduced via the update. These include improved collision physics for online races (a biggie), more tire choices for Time Trial play, and fixes in penalty judgments. In speaking with Polyphony's Yamauchi at E3, we learned that the next GT5P update will introduce new tracks and cars. No date has been set for that yet. [Via PS3 Fanboy]

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue expands this Friday, August 1st with a fairly large content patch. Not only will the patch bring the first load of GTTV content, but also a few gameplay enhancements and fixes. A full list of GTTV videos is available on the official site and will be constantly updated as more is added. At the moment there's plenty to choose from, from season 6 of Top Gear (a must see) to Japan's Super GT and a "video magazine" called Video Option. For the first two weeks all paid-for content will be at the reduced price of $0.99, letting you trial the content for a little while for half price. The patch also adds "fixes in penalty judgments, more tire choices for Time Trial and improved physics during collisions between cars during online races." Sounds like a pretty hefty update. Not bad for a free patch, right? Check the PlayStation Blog post for more info.

Whether you're in it for the pugilistic spectacle or gratuitous undead hostility, we think there are a few good reasons to catch this Friday's episode of GameTrailers TV on Spike. Not only will we see the character creation mode in EA's cartoonish boxing game, Facebreaker, we'll actually get to see show host Geoff Keighley and EA's Peter Moore break each other's faces. In the game.If you prefer your violence to be dispensed with the pull of a finger (and not the swing of a fist), the episode will also feature new gameplay footage of Capcom's controversial Resident Evil 5. Add a trailer for world-warping shooter Fracture and in-game footage of Golden Axe: Beast Rider, and you have yourself a decent bit of entertainment. You'll find a trailer for the episode, which airs on Friday, May 30th, at 1AM ET/PT, after the break.

  • Cinemassively: GTTV covers State of Missouri recruiting in Second Life

Government Technology TV has posted a video covering the State of Missouri's presence in Second Life. Missouri is using SL as a means to recruit people for their IT department. In the video, Dan Ross, the Chief Information Officer for the state, discusses what their in-world presence means to them. I'd have to say that my favorite part of the video is when they superimposed his talking head onto an avatar. With an estimated 60% of their staff eligible for retirement in the next 10 years, Missouri is eager to fill those spots. They will be holding a career fair within the next month, so polish up those resumes! One of the more puzzling parts of the video is where they said their SL plot cost them only $4 USD to establish their presence. I'd like to know who they bought from, because that is an excellent deal!

We don't mean to tell you what to do during your Friday evenings (or early Saturday mornings), but we thought we might at least wedge a single suggestion in-between "pwn sum n00bs" and "stop destroying the English language." If you or your trusty PVR device were to eye Spike TV at 1amET/PT tonight, you'd experience the premiere of "GameTrailers TV with Geoff Keighley," a weekly magazine-style program dedicated to those video game things you like so much.Hosted by media "darling" Geoff Keighley, the show will not only come to you on the airwaves, but via a download on Xbox Live Marketplace and -- for those dying to pore over Geoff's pores -- an HD version on GameTrailers.com. For further incentive, consider that the premiere will highlight an "exclusive sneak peak" of EA's Command & Conquer FPS, Tiberium.Be sure to let us know what you think ... after you've watched it.

A newly announced collaboration between Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., Polyphony Digital and BBC Worldwide will see the broadcaster's popular motoring show, Top Gear, distributed through Gran Turismo TV. The online channel, expected to launch on the PlayStation Network during 2008, will host 40 downloadable episodes of the Jeremy Clarkson vehicle snobbery-fest.An added bonus resulting from the agreement is an in-game replica of the Top Gear Test Track, bound for the PS3 installment of Sony's driving sim, Gran Turismo 5. You'll be able to experience "every white knuckle, hairpin turn," whether or not you're rambling into a camera about how the unnervingly attractive car makes you feel. If you haven't done so already, you can coax the Japanese PSN into giving you the GT5 Prologue demo while you await the final game's release.%Gallery-9051%

  • Wii superfan does not sleep (it's for babies)

In checking in with some of those who waited in line overnight for the Wii, we might have just been shown the world's biggest fanboy. While it is obvious he has some sort of speech impediment (could be sleep deprivation, but we think it wouldn't cause someone to talk like that), it hasn't stopped the internet from making fun of him by putting his face on a T-shirt.[Via Joystiq]

Time constraints apparently forced MTV to cut some delicious Mass Effect footage from the latest episode of G-Hole, part of Gamer's Week 2.0. It's all good though, GameTrailers has us covered (video's also embedded below). Since when did BioWare's latest turn into a 3rd-person Halo with squad dynamics and telekinesis? Show us more!
