This week Steam is hot and cold (yes and no, in and out, up and down), taking a trip to the Asian tundra with a 75 percent off sale on Syberia 1 and 2, and then down to tell the tale of Violette Summer in Velvet Assassin. Also 75 percent off this week are casual platformer Spectraball, action-adventure Gatling Gears and strategy game Greed Corp, which we will pretend take place in hot, cold and hot climates. All six games are on sale through March 11 at 10 a.m. PT.

The EA Indie Bundle (yes, we assure you, it is barely-100-percent-mostly-ish possible for EA to have an indie bundle) is live on Steam, offering 70 percent off a package of six titles from four indie developers, or half off each individual game.Included in the sale is Warp, Shank, Shank 2, DeathSpank, DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue and Gatling Gears. The DeathSpank titles are $7.50 individually and are available on PC and Mac through Steamplay, while the rest of EA's indies cost $5 and are PC only.Indie Game Magazine first spotted the bundle in the super-secret Steam registry files this morning. The sale is now officially on, set to disappear from Steam in one week on May 9.

When you're making the obligatory "things I'm thankful for" speech around the table this Thanksgiving, you may silently include Sony among the honorees. From tomorrow through November 28, the publisher is holding a Fall Sale on PSN that drops some recent releases into temptingly affordable territory. Limbo will be $10.49 (just $7.34 for PS Plus members) during the sale; the lovely Outland is down to $6.99 ($4.89 for Plus); and Might & Magic Clash of Heroes HD drops to just $10.49 ($7.34 for Plus). Find the full list after the break, and don't actually thank Sony out loud when you're at the dinner table. Your relatives already think you're weird enough.

  • PSN Tuesday: Uncharted 3 multiplayer beta is here

Today's PSN update marks the beginning of the PlayStation Plus-exclusive Uncharted 3 multiplayer beta. However, PlayStation Plus membership was offered as part of the "Welcome Back" package, meaning the "exclusive" beta is not so exclusive. In fact, it's essentially open to everyone using the PS Store (if they've activated those free memberships -- you only have until July 3 to do so), so there will be a lot of people rushing to download the beta. Basically, what we're saying is that something given away after a PSN outage is about to knock the PSN out again, jeopardizing your ability to get Beyond Good and Evil HD. Check out all the DLC for this week after the break. Choose your platform to view the corresponding release list: (Note: Continue past the break to view both release lists.)

There are two very different games on XBLA this week. On the one hand we have Star Raiders, a space combat sim and, on the other, we have Gatling Gears, a twin-stick shooter. It's worth noting that while multiplayer modes were mentioned when Star Raiders was first announced last year, it appears they didn't make it into the final product. Check out the latest XBLA in Brief and see if either game gets your gears turning. [iTunes] Subscribe to XBLA in Brief directly in iTunes. [Zune] Subscribe to the XBLA in Brief directly. Though the trailer for Vanguard's twin stick shooter Gatling Gears is too brief to contain much visual meat, there's one announcement that makes it worth viewing. As revealed in the video (posted just after the jump!), the game's due out on XBLA May 11, and PSN May 18.

Giant bosses, bright explosions, and mech battles from an isometric perspective -- the newest trailer for digital title Gatling Gears is rife with all three. Also, big bolded letters.

EA isn't prepared to reveal much on the upcoming Vanguard Entertainment game, Gatling Gears, but thankfully saw fit to provide us a sneak peak through a pair of new screens. Check 'em out in our gallery below -- it follows the art style of Greed Corp. just, you know, with less hexagons.

  • Gatling Gears, a Greed Corp followup from EA Partners and Guerrilla co-founders

Well, that didn't take long. Less than two months after announcing their new studio, Vanguard Entertainment, Guerrilla Games cofounders Martin de Ronde and Michiel Mol have announced their first project, Gatling Gears, to be published by EA Partners. A followup to this year's downloadable Greed Corp, Gatling Gears is "set within the same Mistbound universe featuring signature elements like collapsing land, walker units and warring factions, but now with twin-stick shooter controls and a new hero, Max Brawley." Vanguard was formed by combining the duo's Karami studio with Greed Corp-developer W!Games. And like Greed Corp, Gatling Gears will be coming to three platforms: Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and PC. With a Spring 2011 release planned, it shouldn't be long until we hear more about this particular Gears (the other one got delayed, remember?). In the meantime, you'll have to take what you can get: the postage stamp-sized image above that we nicked from Vanguard's humble website.
