Dell Latitude E4310 officially launches, brings E5410 and E5510 along for the ride
Being the eagle-eyed scouts that we are, we already alerted you to the new 13.3-inch Latitude E4310 and its fine looking product page, but Dell's putting all of its cards on the table today with pricing and availability. Starting at $1,149, the new 1.1-inch thick, corporate-looking laptop will be available later this month with Core i5 CPUs as well as your choice of SSD and hard drive options. That's above the $1,000 threshold, but we're told that's because of its durable tri-metal build and backlit keyboard, both of which sound delightfully delightful. We're curious to see the machine in person, but if you aren't into those extras, Dell's got you covered with its 13.3-inch Latitude E5410 and 14.6-inch E5510, which start at $759 and $789, respectively. While these two aren't the trimmest of the bunch at over 4.5 pounds, they can be configured with Core i3 or i5 processors, DDR3 RAM, and up to 320GB 7,200rpm hard drives. Latitude E4310 sneaks onto Dell's e-tail pages, 'coming soon'
In its own inimitable style, Dell has just updated its Latitude range with the E4310 model we saw floating through the FCC bearing the fancy codename of Lafite. As part of the company's "E-Family," this 13-incher promises rock solid durability and rugged design without compromising on the spec sheet goodies. Processor options are provided by Intel's 2.4GHz Core i5-520M or 2.53GHz Core i5-540M, while memory can stretch up to 8GB of DDR3 and storage space can be maxed out at 500GB. Alternatively, you can plump for the 256GB SSD, with a backlit keyboard, fingerprint reader and UWB radio filling out the optional extras. Prices aren't yet available, but we can surely expect them very soon. In other unannounced news, the E6410 and E6510 models recently spotted on Dell's UK site are now available via the US branch as well, with prices starting at just over $1,100 for base systems equipped with Core i5-520M CPUs. Dell 'Lafite' enters the FCC, emerges as the Latitude E4310
Good old Dell and its FCC submissions. After the E6410 and E6510 were revealed at the start of this month, the Round Rock vendor is back with the flamboyantly named Lafite laptop, which will make its retail presence known under the more familiar moniker of Latitude E4310. Once again, we're talking about computers firmly focused on business use, as evidenced by the integrated RFID chip. The Commission disclosure also informs us of UWB, WLAN and WWAN connectivity options, though it leaves us to guess at the rest of the specs. Space for Intel (Arrandale chips, most likely) and Microsoft labels is par for the course, and we were impressed by the thin chassis profile, schematics of which you can see after the break. Can't be long to go now before we see this 13-inch ultraportable make its debut, presumably alongside a similarly upgraded E4210.
