Google appears to have started a trend with its easy-to-use but pricey OnHub WiFi router. A startup company has Luma created a router with the similar goal of giving you easy-to-use wireless security, monitoring and device connections. It adds a new twist by letting you use several throughout your home in order to increase coverage to, say a corner office, similar to how Sonos WiFi speaker system works. The company calls it "surround WiFi," and each added device requires no additional setup -- the system updates and tunes the signals automatically in order to "always offer peak performance and speed," according to the company.

According to TechCrunch, Instagram has just acquired Luma for an undisclosed amount to help bring its video service to the next level. In addition to basics like video stabilization and adjustments for brightness and saturation, Luma will bring its "Infinite Filter" tech into the fold. What does this do? Well, with it you can add or remove filters to video clips at will once the footage is in the can. If you're one of Luma's existing users, the company is shutting its doors come December 31st, so consider this your fair warning to grab your clips before then. A revamped platform certainly couldn't hurt Instagram's video ambitions -- after all, the competition isn't showing any signs of slowing down.

It's that time again, everybody: time to sheepishly visit Burger King every day and buy a Kids' Meal for Nintendo freebies, all while trying to shut out thoughts of how disappointed your father would be to see you like this. Shame, shame. The fast food chain is giving away a bunch of different toys based on the Wii and its games, and all it wants in return is cash and a willingness to clog up your own arteries. We like the "Chain Chomp Launcher" the best, though the "Float and Go Boo" and "Light-Up Luma" are also nice. Plus, we can always keep telling ourselves we'll sell all this on eBay in the future for a small fortune. Yes, that'll do: it's an investment in our future. Pictures and details of all ten follow the break.

Sony's unveiled three professional-quality LCDs meant for video production and mastering. First up is the BVM-L420 (pictured), a 1080p LED backlit LCD specifically tweaked for more accurate black levels, meant for preview monitoring in control rooms or production trucks, 1080/24p. Next are two new LCDs in Sony's LUMA line, a 1280x768 17-inch and a 1080p 42-inch model, equipped with all manner of inputs and Sony's ChromaTru color processing for accurate colors. The LMBD-4250W comes in at $7,800, while the 17-inch model has a price TBD before it ships in April. The similarly without-pricetag BVM-L230 is due this summer. Read - BVM-L420Read - Luma

While we're busy playing Minesweeper and messing around with Vista's Flip 3D, some people have to actually get things done while staring at their LCDs for hours unending. For those stiffs, Sony is announcing its newly redesigned Luma professional LCDs, the 20-inch LMD-2030W, which sports an HDMI input for video production types, and the LMD-2450W / LMD-2050W 20 and 24-inch displays, which feature regular ol' DVI ports and 10-bit processing. The 2450W sports a 1920 x 1200 resolution, while the 20-inchers go for 1680 x 1050. All the displays include support for composite and component video, and the two DVI setups even include wave-form monitoring and audio level meter display. No word on pricing, but we're guessing all this professionalism won't come cheap. You should be able to pick one up in May.[Via PCLaunches]
